11-1 and beaten over 16L on debut at Newbury (6f, good to firm) in July. Can only watch in this line-up.

Won his first two starts, defying a penalty to land the second here over 7f (good to firm) in June. Really good effort to be third in a Curragh Group 2 next time. Not quite as good since, but still has a very solid profile and should be thereabouts.

10-1 and overcame greenness to win going away on debut at Goodwood (1m, good) last month. Holds a Group 2 Royal Lodge entry and will need to be very competitive here in order to justify that, which is not out of the question.

(£2,500 vendor yearling). Dam placed 1m/1m2f AW, out of unraced half-sister to Group 1 winners Sleepytime (1,000 Guineas), Ali-Royal (Sussex Stakes) and Taipan (1m2f/1m4f). Interesting pedigree and trainer's juveniles an improved 18% this season.

Improving with each run and won at Yarmouth and then under a penalty at York (both 7f) earlier in the season. Good effort when 3½L third on first try in Group 3 company at York last time. Should be very competitive.

Forecasts

Beatboxer (11/10), Great Scot (13/8), Persian Moon (5/2), Floating Artist (3/1), Certain Lad (5/1), Bullington Boy (40/1)

15:00 Haydock - 8 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A very interesting contest with several of those entered representing trainer who have won this in the past decade and John Gosden, who did so in 2015 with Foundation, is taken to do so again this time with the progressive BEATBOXER. The colt was an easy C&D winner last time and looks capable of taking a successful step up in grade. Certain Lad and Persian Moon both look likely to be very competitive, while Floating Artist is entitled to plenty of respect. Great Scot is an interesting newcomer, given that he is pitched in at this level.
