11/4
Dandy Man colt that made a solid debut when second at Pontefract (winner thought good enough for G3 company next time) but disappointing short-priced favourite here last time, every chance but not good enough. Chances again, but others preferred.

Poet's Voice colt, bred for speed and purchased for £24,000 as a yearling. Yard can ready them first time up and are 13% with their 2yos here, so deserves respect on debut.

Don Logan18
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: J Garritty| T: R A Fahey
22/1
Kyllachy colt that has run to a similar level on both starts so far and looks ready for this step up in trip after looking a little one-paced at Pontefract last time. Needs improvement but that could be forthcoming, and not totally discounted.

Flint Said No28
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: G Lee| T: B Smart| BF
14/1
Green on debut here in June but stuck to the task and was getting the message late on to finish fourth. Not so good when made favourite at Newcastle last time but conditions here clearly no issue and could bounce back.

Only shown moderate promise in two starts so far and looks badly in need of time and more of a trip. May be of more interest once getting a handicap mark after today.

Sent off a huge price on debut but belied those odds to finish midfield, not disgraced. That form needs plenty of improving on but it wasn't the worst start to his career, and he may be capable of better.

Liquid Lunch12
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: P Hanagan| T: R A Fahey| OR:  77
2/1
Es Que Love colt that's related to plenty of winners and he himself went close to joining them when only denied by a neck at Redcar last time. Different track to cope with here but repeat of that probably makes him the one to beat.

50/1
Society Rock colt that's a half-brother to a couple of winners (including Mulligatawny, also trained by this yard at one point). May want a bit further before we see him at his best and yard not known for debut winners.

Ugo Gregory17
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby
100/1
Tailed off at a big price on debut, showing little in the process, and not hard to think there's others with far stronger claims.

Zip127
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey
10/1
Kyllachy colt that was getting the hang of it late on debut at Pontefract, staying on nicely for fifth. Will improve, seems to handle cut so any rain a plus, and although has had a break since then, no reason not to go well if fir and ready.

Horse silk

Gale Force Ten filly that was sent off a three-figure price for her debut at Ripon and was simply too green to do herself justice. Could be the same story here.
12
(12)
Horse silk
7/1
Sir Percy filly that was sent off 50-1 for her Redcar debut but made a mockery of that, rattling home late for second. Drop back a furlong is negated somewhat by the stiffer track, and she would not have to improve much to take a hand.

Horse silk
Our Wynnie
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: T Eaves| T: P T Midgley
125/1
Zoffany filly, makes little appeal on pedigree and yard just 7-138 with their 2yos last 5 years. Others readily preferred.

Praxidice
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: B A Curtis| T: K R Burke
6/1
Nicely bred Toronado filly, dam a half-sister to the useful sprinter Stepper Point and as the yard can ready them first time up and have an excellent 31% strike rate with their 2yos here, she has to be taken very seriously. Watch market for a clue.

Forecasts

Liquid Lunch (2/1), Bugler Bob (11/4), Praxidice (6/1), Northern Lyte (7/1), Zip (10/1), Flint Said No (14/1), Charlie's Boy (16/1), Don Logan (22/1), Slaithwaite (50/1), George's Law (80/1), Ugo Gregory (100/1), Our Wynnie (125/1), Jagerbond (200/1), Happy Hannah (200/1)

17:30 Carlisle - 6 September 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

As long as LIQUID LUNCH isn't inconvenienced by this stiffer track then he can get on the scoresheet after a narrow defeat at Ayr last time. He deserves to win one and this looks a suitable opportunity. Northern Lyte exceeded expectations on her debut but there appeared no fluke about it and this uphill finish ought to suit her. She holds chances, along with Bugler Bob, who needs to bounce back from a lesser effort and newcomer Praxidice, from a yard who have had a good season with their 2yos.
  1. Liquid Lunch
  2. Northern Lyte
  3. Praxidice
