Improved on debut effort when 2½L second of 7 to Dutch Treat in 7f novice at Yarmouth last time, wandering after getting to front briefly. Hood left off now, and bred to progress well at this trip and further.
First foal of Gold Cup winner Estimate, and caught the eye under hand riding when third of 5 on debut at Sandown behind subsequent Group 3 wnner Too Darn Hot. Sure to improve markedly, for all an even stiffer test will suit.
Home-bred colt out of connections' 1½m-1¾m winner Party Line. Didn't show much on recent debut at York (7f), and looks one for the longer term on that evidence.
First foal of a winning half-sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m Rio de La Plata. Yard may have few stars, but strike-rate with 2-y-o newcomers is more than respectable, so needs a market check.
Pour Moi half-brother to smart 1¼m-1¾m winner Bauer and useful 1¼m-1¾m winner Boz, both in this ownership. Likely to need more time and distance, but not dismissed easily.
Leroidesanimaux colt out of a multiple middle-distance winner, herself half-sister to Prix de L'Opera winner Lady Marian. Shaped really well when third in a warm novice at Newmarket on last month's debut, and sure to improve.
Appeared unlucky not to score a debut success at Sandown in July, but a little disappointing when only second at Haydock next time. Form of that race has worked out, and he still sets a clear standard.
Strong in the market when just denied on Haydock debut, and presumably amiss when flopping there next time. Has since left Mark Johnston, and ought to get back on track.
Dam was a winner as a two-year-old over this trip, and this son of Australia shaped well when a close second on debut at Ffos Las recently. Should improve, and Group-race entries are encouraging.
By a Derby winner out of a half-sister to a St Leger winner, so no surprise he found 6f too sharp on Leicester debut. Bit to find on form, but racing at a much more suitable trip now, and not ruled out.
Forecasts
Line Of Duty (6/5), Pablo Escobarr (9/2), Calculation (6/1), Allmankind (8/1), Sir Ron Priestley (8/1), Le Don De Vie (8/1), Tzar Nicholas (25/1), Dubai Icon (33/1), Kiefer (100/1), Caplin (100/1)
CALCULATION will stay much further in due course, but that's true of most of these due to the race conditions, and his third to Too Darn Hot on debut looks better after that colt won the Solario Stakes at the weekend. He is taken to improve past Line of Duty, who is the strict form choice, with Allmankind and Sir Ron Priestley others to consider in a race which should throw up plenty of winners.
