Showed improved form to finish fourth of seven on his nursery debut at Nottingham, and built markedly on that when scoring in similar event at Thirsk last time. More to come at this trip, and likely to take the beating.
Promise in qualifying runs, but failed to improve much despite starting favourite on nursery bow at Beverley (7½f) last time having been gelded. Visor applied now, and may do better.
Best effort in three qualifying runs when 5¼L third of 8 to Off Piste in 1m novice at Ripon last time. Drop in trip not sure to suit (stoutly bred), and needs to improve further to get involved.
Gradually going the right way, and produced his best effort when 2½L second of 5 to Five Helmets on nursery debut at Beverley last time, with Pesci back in fourth. Should remain competitive.
Related to winners, and improved on previous runs when 6½L fourth of 9 to Ventura Ocean in 6f novice at Pontefract last time. That is fairly modest form, but she's open to improvement now handicapping, and opening mark not brutal.
Consistent efforts in qualifying races without progressing, and could finish only fifth behind House Deposit in a nursery at Thirsk last time, so clear that she has her work cut out to be competitive here.
Only minor impact on first three starts, but did better after a break when 1½L third of 5 to Call Him Al on nursery bow over C&D last time. Would have gone close with a better start on that occasion, and one to bear in mind.
Beaten by wide margins on all three starts to date, but does at least start in nurseries off a basement rating, and won't need to improve massively to get involved. Market useful.
Forecasts
Smart Illusion (11/4), House Deposit (3/1), Pesci (5/1), My Ukulele (13/2), Alfred The Grey (9/1), Fighting Spirit (12/1), Aghast (12/1), Melgate Majeure (18/1)
HOUSE DEPOSIT is thriving, was value for extra at Thirsk last time, and is bred to be even better at this trip, so is hard to oppose. Smart Illusion holds Pesci on their running at Beverley last time, and looks best of the others on balance, although both My Ukulele and Aghast are open to improvement in this sphere.
