Better than ever this term winning three times and finishing fourth in Group One July Cup over 6f. Two-from-two over 7f this year including win last time out at Goodwood despite meeting traffic problems. Rock-solid claims despite weight concession.

50/1 Lennox winner at Goodwood in 2017 and showed liking for that C&D when only going down by a neck to Sir Dancealot there latest. 3lb better off with that rival today which must help. Fourth of eight in this last year.

6f Listed winner on soft ground last Autumn finished strongly here over 6f last time out in a Group Three when third to Yafta. Return to 7f should suit and won over this trip at Lingfield last term. Career best needed but seems to be improving.

7f Group Three win first time out represented a career best. Found life considerably tougher since in 1m Group Two (Ascot) and One (Deauville). Bit to find here in this very hot Group Two.

2000 Guineas sixth was placed subsequently in three 1m Group Ones before settling for fourth latest in Sussex Stakes. Three-from-three over 7f so drop in trip won't inconvenience and has to take a lot of beating receiving weight from elders.

Become an absolute model of consistency finishing first or second in last nine (of ten) races. Another career best latest when winning a 6f Group Three here. Seemed to stay 7f in only try this season and while yet more is needed he can't be ignored.

Winner of a substandard Fred Darling here back in April but well beaten in the 1000 Guineas and in a 7f Goodwood Group Three latest. More needed against seasoned Group One and Two horses.

Forecasts

Gustav Klimt (15/8), Librisa Breeze (3/1), Sir Dancealot (4/1), Yafta (6/1), Dream Of Dreams (10/1), Breton Rock (12/1), Dan's Dream (25/1), Tomyris (40/1)

15:35 Newbury - 18 August 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

GUSTAV KLIMT has done very little wrong at the top level this season but narrowly failed to get his head in front. His running style suggests a drop back to 7f may not be ideal but the Coolmore brains trust will no doubt have plans to overcome that and at Group Two level he is surely going to take a lot of beating. Group One winner Librisa Breeze is a huge threat and Dean Ivory's pride and joy is just as effective over 7f, the only slight concern is fast ground. Sir Dancealot has done nothing wrong this season and as a winner at this level over this distance latest he is sure to make another bold bid but the 3lb penalty just swings the balance elsewhere.
  1. Gustav Klimt
  2. Librisa Breeze
  3. Sir Dancealot
