5/1
Following an impressive first two starts was very disappointing in a hot York contest won by subsequent Vintage Stakes winner Dark Vision. Unsuited by being taken on for the lead and may suffer the same fate.

Improved out of sight when springing a surprise on his second start, showing a very game attitude. Performance was backed up by the time and only likely to improve for this stable.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: Hollie Doyle| T: A Watson| BF
11/4
Lowther entry who showed loads of speed when making all on debut on AW before disappointing on an easier surface on turf. Likely to be better suited by this surface and a drop in trip but will face competition for the lead.
25,000 guineas Charm Spirit colt out of a well related unraced mare. Improved for debut when second behind a clear-cut winner. Can be competitive again but more likely to fare better in handicaps.

Son of Swiss Spirit who is a half-brother to sprint winner Sweet Pursuit. Wasn't disgraced here on debut but tailed off on turf last time. Best watched in first-time headgear.

Improved significantly on his second start despite showing signs of greenness and is open to plenty more improvement. This though looks another tough ask and may be one to note in handicaps in due course.

Sent off at enormous odds both starts and yet to beat a horse home. Impossible to make a case for in this company.

Looked flattered by racing prominently on a slow pace when third at Yarmouth and subsequently struggled in two handicaps since. More required back in this company.

Cost $14,000 as a foal, $60,000 as a yearling and 130,000 gns as a Breeze-up purchase. Made a really eye-catching debut when slowly away and green before running on for a very good fifth. Stable's runners tend to improve for their debut.

Forecasts

Lovin (6/4), Isaan Queen (11/4), Bobby Ewing (9/2), Autumn Splendour (5/1), Sparklealot (14/1), Cobweb Catcher (20/1), Free Love (33/1), No Diggity (33/1), Cool Walk (100/1)

17:50 Chelmsford City - 17 August 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Autumn Splendour showed good ability in his first two runs but may have been suited by making the running at a slow pace and he needs to bounce back from a disappointing performance, albeit in a hot race. He will face competition for the lead from Isaan Queen, who should appreciate a return to the AW and also Sparklealot who looks the pick of the front-runners considering the battling nature and improvement he displayed on his second run. However they could set things up for LOVIN who ran in a quickly run maiden, that is traditionally a strong contest and despite greenness ran a very promising race.
  1. Lovin
  2. Sparklealot
  3. Isaan Queen
