Very consistent sort who scored on his second handicap start over 5f at Redcar on his latest start with cheekpieces on for the first-time and ridden by this apprentice. That combination worked well and is repeated here off a 4lb higher mark.

Produced a career-best effort on his debut for this yard winning at Leicester over 6f (his first victory of any kind). Produced a creditable effort when trying to follow-up moved back to 5f (AW) and tries again here off the same mark and trip.

C&D winner as a juvenile and recorded his 2nd win (dead-heat) when taking advantage of a reduced mark earlier this year at Hamilton over 6f. Appears to be in the grip of the handicapper now though and this shorter trip isn't to his advantage.

Lightly-raced sort who has won over C&D as a two-year-old but hasn't had that much exposure in handicaps as yet. Will find this an easier test that she was given at York last time (0-85, soft) with the better surface likely to suit better.

Consistency until his last start had been his strong point this year recording a win at the start of the season alongside four 2nd place finishes. His win came of a 13lb lower mark but he's proved competitive off this rating and could bounce back.

A winner over 5f last year as a two-year-old she's not really got going this year even with her mark gradually falling and now off a career-low mark. Slowly away and gradually left behind last time out and has work to do to get involved here.

Goes well for this rider (form figures of 213) with the win coming over C&D off a 4lb lower mark (her 2nd C&D win) and helped by being held-up in a strongly run race. Ran well back up to 6f last time off a 3lb higher mark; should run well again.

Still a maiden after 17 starts and despite a mark that is now much reduced he doesn't really show any signs of taking advantage. Hard to produce a convincing case for him against others who have far better profiles in this.

Forecasts

Our Little Pony (5/2), Cameo Star (9/2), Wrenthorpe (11/2), Gold Stone (6/1), Qaaraat (13/2), Revenge (7/1), Porchy Party (7/1), Bomad (7/1), Palmer (12/1), Bow Belles (20/1)

17:00 Beverley - 15 August 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This three-year-old handicap could well result in a tight finish with Harry Russell again teaming up with Wrenthorpe who sets the standard here after he divested himself of his maiden tag last time and he should go well again off a 4lb higher mark. OUR LITTLE PONY goes well here and for Faye McManoman and from the plum draw and a decent pace to chase she’s taken to record her third C&D win. Others to respect here are the dropped in grade Porchy Party and Gold Stone with Qaaraat another well drawn one who should be capable of getting involved off this mark.
  1. Our Little Pony
  2. Wrenthorpe
  3. Qaaraat
