Has already won a couple of class 4 events this year over this trip and produced a career-best when beaten just over 2L in this grade at York (1m) last time. Nudged up another 1lb, so more needed, but enters calculations.

Listed winner who won his last two races in France (both 1m, good to firm) and was bought for €140,000 last month. Makes debut for this trainer and market should help to gauge expectations from this mark.

Was a decisive soft ground winner over this trip at Ascot on his reappearance in May. Went up 9lb, but beaten just 2L from this mark when last seen later that month at Sandown. Probably wants some rain and interesting if it comes.

All three wins have been gained over this trip, though all were last year. Returned with a good effort at Newbury in May, but form has tailed off since then. On a handy mark now, but has a bit to prove.

Won two of his first three starts (in 2016) but has not added to that since. Has some solid form in defeat this term, and should be capable of making an impact from one of the lowest marks of his career so far.

In good form of late, winning at both Carlisle and Beverley over similar trips to this. Well held in big field amateur event last time and previous runs from this sort of mark suggest that he needs a bit of improvement to win again.

Not ground dependent and won't mind any rain. Scored at Ayr (7f, good to firm) in June, when 5lb lower, though well held from 1lb higher at Carlisle latest. Probably not quite fully exposed, but this looks tough enough.

15:40 Haydock - 11 August 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An open heat, where VIA VIA is of interest now dropped to this grade and gets the vote ahead of Greatest Journey, who has a chance of claiming a first turf success, and Lamloom, who again merits consideration. King's Pavilion has dropped to a handy mark and, along with Lord Of The Rock, would be of more interest if the ground turns softer.
