Runner-up in a Hexham bumper last June, but he's not matched that in either sphere since, and no improvement for wind surgery when well held at Newcastle last time.
Closely-related to smart 7f performer Perfect Tribute, and cost 180,000 gns as a yearling. Unfancied for debut at Newbury last month, but belied inexperience to win all out. Sure to improve, and much respected.
Improved from low-key debut when fourth at Goodwood in June for Simon Crisford. Seen to maximum effect there, though, and further progress needed to get involved here.
Teofilo half-brother to smart winners Awzaan, Muteela and Hajras, out of a 7f listed winner. Boasts a decent pedigree and represents a powerful yard, so shortlisted, with market to guide.
Related to useful winners, and improved from debut when neck second of 4 to Heart of Grace in a Lingfield novice last time. Looks open to further progress, and sure to go close again.
Bred to stay this trip, but achieved little in a Newcastle novice on last month's debut, and easy to oppose on that showing.
Forecasts
Volcanic Sky (1/1), Al Kherb (6/4), Tajdeed (5/1), Point Of Honour (33/1), Disturb (200/1), Ferney (250/1)
Tajdeed is a superbly-bred newcomer who needs a market check, but he's making his debut at a belated stage of the season, and this has the look of a match between Newbury winner Al Kherb and VOLCANIC SKY, with narrow preference for the Godolphin colt in receipt of weight after a fine effort at Lingfield.
