Form has deteriorated having switched to 7f so he may bounce back over this shorter trip. His relatives have produced their best on AW surfaces and he has too.

Consistent filly who ruined her chance on nursery debut after blowing the start. Handles soft ground and a drop in the weights helps as does an in-form apprentice.

Shapes as though ready for 7f and her pedigree dictates that. Nevertheless, on a handy mark for nursery debut with good claimer on board and stable 5-18 with juveniles here.

As a son Excelebration the going should not be a concern. That may bring about the improvement needed to figure here so a market check seems advisable.

Showed some promise behind Marie's Diamond on debut when conditions were testing. Has failed to reproduce that effort on quicker ground and last of 18 in a valuable seller when last seen.

Only modest form so far but has a soft ground pedigree and stable 4-13 with their juveniles here. Cheekpieces on for first time.

Has run to a similar level on all three starts, the last two being over 7f. Bred to stay much further but interesting now handicapping for a yard with a 3-9 record here with juveniles since 2014.

Claimed out of Marco Botti's yard for £10,000 after outrunning this mark last week. It is a ploy that has worked well for this trainer and rider is 2-5 on their juveniles this year.

Sybil Grand31
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: David Probert| T: J A Osborne| OR:  60

Has looked backward on each start, but could do better now handicapping and with yard's last four runners all coming home in front.

Siona's Boy52
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: H Crouch| T: P D Evans| OR:  60

Has shown pace before fading on all three starts and has been gelded since his last run. Makes nursery debut off a mark that looks higher than deserved.

Swiss Spirit colt, cost 31,000 gns as a yearling and half-brother to three winners. Has been too keen on each start and makes handicap debut off a low mark. Ground conditions are a concern.

Devils Roc7
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Dane O'Neill| T: C Hills| OR:  57

Stepped up on previous form when runner-up in a Newbury nursery. Her worst run to date came on a soft surface so that has to be a concern here.

Meraranip71
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-7| J: Rhiain Ingram(5)| T: Paul George| OR:  50

Has shown little ability in either start. Even allowing for greenness she looks easy to oppose on this occasion.

Forecasts

Devils Roc (4/1), Improvising (9/2), Capla Gilda (5/1), Popping Corks (13/2), Raskolnikov (9/1), Pot Luck (10/1), Max Guevara (10/1), Siona's Boy (10/1), Barbegazi (11/1), Sybil Grand (20/1), Be Proud (20/1), Made In Lewisham (25/1), Merarani (66/1)

17:30 Ffos Las - 2 August 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CAPLA GILDA ran above this mark last week and is due to go up 3lb next time. She has since joined a yard that do well with horses they claim and she has a pedigree that suggests she will not mind the predicted ground. Max Geuvara, Pot Luck, Popping Corks and Be Proud represent yards that do well here with their youngsters and Sybil Grand comes from a yard having a good spell. Improvising looks a likely type for a nursery and her young rider is enjoying a good spell.
  1. Capla Gilda
  2. Improvising
  3. Popping Corks
