By Dragon Pulse out of an unraced half-sister to smart 6f winner Shanghai Glory. Badly needed experience when last of 12 on debut here last month, and likely to do much better.

Deadly Force18
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: R Havlin| T: D R Lanigan
20/1
Lethal Force colt who cost 35,000gns as a yearling. In need of the run on debut at Windsor in June, but didn't fare much better there last time, and looks one for handicaps in time.

By French sire Anodin, he cost €50,000 this year and is a half-brother to a 1m1f winner in France. Showed ability when seventh of 11 at Ascot first time, but will need further to come into his own.

Brother to 6f-1m winner Mecado. Sent off a big price but hinted at ability when down the field at Wolverhampton on racecourse debut, and should do better somewhere down the line.

Dam a winning half-sister to Italian Group 1 winner Querari, but none of her foals to race have managed a win, and this one was gelded after finishing in the ruck here in May.

Sir Victor8
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: M Harley| T: Tom Dascombe
7/4
Sir Prancelot half-brother to useful sprinter Corinthia Knight. Improved from debut when 1½L second of 6 to Rockin Roy in minor event at Chepstow last time, and comes into the reckoning on that showing.

Sky Patrol22
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Josephine Gordon| T: L Wadham| OR:  75
7/2
Showed benefit of previous experience when making most to be second to a subsequent winner at Yarmouth last time. Sets a fair standard on that form, but probably vulnerable to less exposed rivals.

Strawberry Jack11
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: David Egan| T: George Scott| BF
5/1
Plugged on willingly after a tardy start when third on debut here in June, but took a backward step when only fourth of 8 at Wolverhampton last time, again starting slowly. Must step up.

33/1
First foal of a winning half-sister to Curragh Cup winner Tactic. Cost €48,000 as a yearling, but starts off at a trip which looks too sharp on pedigree.

Horse silk
13/2
Toronado filly who finished 5¼L fourth to subsequent Albany Stakes runner up La Pelosa on debut at Kempton in May, but couldn't build on that when sixth of 11 at Newbury last time, perhaps finding 7f too much of a test.

Horse silk
20/1
Half-sister to a couple of useful winners over a variety of trips. In good hands, but yard's juveniles usually brought along slowly, and jockey booking suggests she will need this initial experience.

Forecasts

Sir Victor (7/4), Sky Patrol (7/2), Strawberry Jack (5/1), Lolita Pulido (13/2), Celsius (12/1), Goldino Bello (16/1), Stormy Road (20/1), Deadly Force (20/1), Toro Dorado (33/1), Sandridge Lad (40/1), Kompton Mckenzie (66/1)

18:10 Newmarket - 27 July 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CELCIUS failed to beat a rival on debut here last month, but the fact he started at a short price tells a story, as do his future entries, so he's given another chance in a modest race for the venue. Sky Patrol may be vulnerable to improvers, but sets the standard on his latest second, and is entitled to respect, as is Sir Victor after an improved showing at Chepstow. Lolita Pulido may do better dropped back to 6f, and completes the shortlist.
