Winner for Richard Fahey at Pontefract last year (good to soft) but has become disappointing and was a well beaten last of nine at Ripon last time. Tongue tie now given a try, but plenty to prove at present.
Won a couple at Beverley last year before running a stormer to be denied a short head in a valuable sales race at Newmarket. May have needed both starts this season and ran better at Beverley last time. His turn may not be far away again.
Came home well to nail them on the line in a Pontefract handicap last time, taking advantage of the drop in grade to score, so whilst 3lb rise is fair, may need more back up in grade here. Might appreciate a stiffer track too.
Been tried over a variety of trips this year (as far as 10f) but his sixth to Yalta over 6f in better grade than this at Newmarket reads well enough. Hard to pin down exactly what form he's in, but dangerous to rule out off this mark.
Winner over 5f at Carlisle in May and now only 1lb higher here, but last couple of efforts suggest that she's gone off the boil and. Another slow start cost her any chance at Chester last time. Others make more appeal.
Won at Pontefract last season (good to soft) and only just denied on latest start at Hamilton, beaten a neck. Travelled best there and a little worrying he couldn't finish the job off, but early days and if handling quick ground, can't be ruled out.
Might not be entirely straightforward but went close on seasonal debut at Nottingham this year (5f), and has been plying her trade in better grade since. This is easier, and handicapper eases her burden, so if getting this 6f, may go close.
Sprang a 33-1 surprise at Leicester two starts back but showed that no fluke when following up at Wolverhampton last time. Upped in grade, trip and weights, so new questions to answer, but in rude health and may easily improve again.
Forecasts
Jonboy (5/2), Arcavallo (9/2), Wirral Girl (5/1), Roland Rocks (11/2), Zumurud (8/1), Areen Faisal (9/1), Seen The Lyte (11/1), Bomad (20/1)
None of these can be ruled out and it looks a very difficult finale to solve. ARCAVALLO might be coming back to form and is worth a try to worry Jonboy out of it. The latter is running well but is finding pushing his head in front hard. Bomad is on a roll and the harder they go up front, the better his chance late on.
