Won nicely over 1m2f three starts ago and not disgraced in two subsequent outings. Drop back in trip shouldn't be an issue and yard has been going well of late so has a chance despite a big weight.

17lb lower than last success which came at York two years ago. Has lacked consistency and continues to drop in the handicap so a revival not ruled out, but others make more appeal.

Has done well this term wining twice over a mile at Newcastle then scoring on turf over extended mile at Hamilton last time, staying on well at finish. 5lb higher now but looks sure to give another good account of herself.

Nicely bred Declaration Of War filly makes handicap bow after hinting at ability when unplaced in thre maidens so far. Yard known for exploits with handicappers so improvement is a big possibility and is worth noting for market interest.

Admirable teengaer who is a credit to connections and has won here seven times over the years, although never at this trip. Dropped to all-time low mark so a bold show is not ruled out but his old legs may give way to younger rivals.

Represents last year's winning yard but remains a maiden after eight starts. Best effort yet though when third at Ayr last time but more needed here.

2-12 on the AW but 0-15 on turf tells its own story. Third here over a mile back in May off 8lb higher mark so not without a chance if this venue sparks a revival. Possible place claims .

17-race maiden who has shown little for previous handlers and makes debut for new yard who have habit of improving arrivals. This looks a challenge though and he looks best watched for now.

Yet to reach even a place in seven starts so far and was eased when beaten at Beverley last time over 1m4f. Drop back in trip makes sense but needs to start getting his act together and has it all to do.

Forecasts

Plansina (11/4), Woody Bay (5/1), Kiwi Bay (6/1), Kilbaha Lady (6/1), Special Mission (6/1), Pindaric (15/2), Betty Grable (12/1), Lukoutoldmakezebak (25/1), Power Sail (33/1)

14:35 Redcar - 22 July 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This is a modest handicap and, not for the first time, there is a suspicion that Sir Mark Prescott's handicap debutante SPECIAL MISSION could show plenty of improvement stepped up in trip. She wouldn't have to be a superstar to land the spoils. Plansina is a danger having won well at Hamilton last time, and top weight Kilbaha Lady shoudn't be far away either. Old boy Kiwi Bay may yet have a race in him and isn't completely dismissed, nor is another regular at this level, Woody Bay.
