Consistent sort who has returned from wind surgery in fair form getting off the mark for the season under an experienced amateur recently. Couldn't cope with a penalty last time though and faces a stiff task off top weight here.

Two wins on the AW after returning from a short break with the form of his first win working out well and the latest win confirming his progressive profile. Only one previous turf run (respectable) and hard to rule out him completing the hat-trick.

Appeared to relish testing conditions when winning het final juvenile start (1m, heavy) when with Mick Channon. Has made little impression so far on her two runs for this yard (slow away last time) and more needed to make an impression.

Still a maiden despite giving signs that he may be able to win a race when running well dropped into selling grade at Ripon off a break. Followed that up with a decent run back in handicaps but was below-par last time; bit to prove at this level.

First two runs this season gave the impression that he was working up to something and so it proved when dropped in grade he won a weak race over C&D. 6lb penalty up in class makes this tougher (only due to rise 3lb); will struggle to follow-up.

Runs from 7lb out of the handicap but could be a little better than his form figures suggest (pedigree decent) and not seen to best effect last time out over 1m here. Did a little too much too soon last time. Engaged Hamilton 5.05 Thursday.

Forecasts

Atticus Boy (4/5), Granite City Doc (11/4), Royal Cosmic (4/1), Thorntoun Care (15/2), Iconic Code (14/1), Flying Focus (20/1), Mister Moosah (20/1)

20:25 Hamilton - 20 July 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Two last time out winners to focus on here with the best form shown by ATTICUS BOY who if he can reproduce his AW form back on turf looks sure to complete his hat-trick; he’s 1lb well-in under his penalty and looks progressive. Granite City Doc reverts to a higher grade after taking a 0-60 last time and his penalty looks set to anchor him here and bigger dangers to the section are likely to come from the consistent Thorntoun Care and Royal Cosmic although that one does look on a tough mark now. Flying Focus if he does run here after his proposed Thursday exploits could be of interest he’s nicely bred and could be better than his lowly mark.
  1. Atticus Boy
  2. Thorntoun Care
  3. Granite City Doc
