Pretty well backed the last twice but has not got further than the first fence on either occasion. No surprise to see him returned to hurdles for a little confidence booster on the back of that. Much higher in the weights over hurdles and tough ask.
Winner of 1lb higher over fences at this time last year. not been in good form of late however and ultimately well beaten at Ffos Las last month. Needs to do more to be considered.
Badly out of form of late and his mark has tumbled as a result. Dangerously well handicapped now but hard to fancy all the same unless market screams his name.
got off the mark dropped back into maiden company at Market Rasen last time. Will be a player here if he is now able to build on that back in a handicap.
Won a weak race at Southwell back in May but has found life much tougher since off this higher mark. Similar story is on the cards today unless he shows some improvement.
Bits and pieces of his form suggest that this mark is workable. Has now switched to Davd Pipe from Alan King and the cheekpieces are added after a short break. Strong market support would be significant.
Ran well at Warwick two starts back before unseating his rider when still contention last time. Has the ability to get in the mix here if still in the same form.
Showed significant improvement to win his last two with a minimum of fuss. Raised another 6lbs for the latest of those over C&D and has sound claims of getting the hat-trick up.
Beaten just 4L when finishing third at Ludlow in April (2m5f soft) and has also won a Down Royal bumper in his Irish days (May 2016). Modest back from wind surgery latest and needs to do more.
Dropped in the weights before an emphatic return to form when winning easily at Southwell (3m, good) two weeks ago. Slapped with a 12lb rise for that win but will still be in the mix of in the same mood.
Took a real liking to the step up in trip when winning comfortably at Stratford (2m6f, good) last month. Up another 9lb for that but is progressing well and another with sound claims.
Forecasts
Zebi Boy (11/4), Chato (9/2), The Flame (6/1), Calarules (8/1), Dr Robin (8/1), Third Estate (10/1), Mythical Legend (11/1), Calin Du Brizais (14/1), Kiwayu (20/1), Red Giant (25/1), Instant Karma (25/1)
An open race for the finale. Any market support for Chato should be noted on his first start for David Pipe. The will probably got the way of one of the three last time out winners at the bottom of the weights. Kiwayu is respected despite the rise in the weights. Calarules will surely appreciate this further step up in trip and is very much respected. ZEBI BOY has improved no end recently and can take this to get his C&D hat-trick up.
