Mid-division in both starts over 6f on the AW at Chelmsford, shaping as though this step up in trip will help. One to consider on first start on turf.
Irish raider who stepped up on debut run at The Curragh when a close-up sixth of 15 over this distance at Roscommon. Likely to improve again and is one for the short list.

Hope Again

50/1
Cheap purchase by Sayif out of a mare who won over 6f. Stable also saddles Tisneverending so the market is likely to reflect their respective chances.

By Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden, she cost only £8,000 gns as a foal, but is a half-sister to four winners from 7f to 1m4f. Plenty of stamina in pedigree, represents respected connections and warrants a second look on debut.

Filly by Poet's Voice, she is a half-sister to a winner over 1m2f. Stable going well and can get a juvenile ready to go first time out.

A 14,000 yearling by Alhebayeb, she is a half-sister to 5f/6f winner Bazula. Needed the experience on debut at Lingfield and may require more time to develop. Top jumps stable has had a juvenile winner this season.

A filly by Phoenix Reach, she is a half-sister to three winners up to 1m. Green when fourth of seven over 6f at Lingfield on debut and should be capable of building on that display for last year's winning stable.

25/1
Most experienced member of the field who has run in France on her last two starts. Has form which gives her a fair chance in this company, but she is exposed and vulnerable to more lightly-raced types. Stable also saddles newcomer Hope Again.

Forecasts

Champagne Marengo (6/5), Pot Luck (3/1), Be Proud (4/1), Loving Pearl (7/1), Mirabai (25/1), Tisneverending (25/1), Obaby (33/1), Hope Again (50/1)

18:45 Chepstow - 3 July 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Loving Pearl and Mirabal are interesting newcomers and market support for them would have to be taken seriously. Pot Luck, representing last year's winning stable, should step up on her Lingfield debut and Be Proud looks likely to be suited to this longer trip, but CHAMPAGNE MARENGO makes the trip from Ireland and could be the one to beat following a good effort over this distance at Roscommon last time. Tisneverending looks the best of the rest.
  1. Champagne Marengo
  2. Pot Luck
  3. Be Proud
