Harbour Watch gelding, cost £16,000 as a yearling. Dam a winner over 5f. Green and well beaten on debut. More needed in this company and may need more time.
Shamardal colt, cost 80,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to two winners and dam a Listed winner. Improved from debut to finish runner-up at Haydock last time, still displaying signs of inexperience. Should improve.
Ran well on dirt in Meydan this winter and not disgraced in a Listed race on turf at that course in March. That run sets the standard on form for his rivals here and wears a first-time hood on return to the UK.
Equiano colt, cost 20,000 gns as a foal and 80,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a Listed winner. Makes appeal on paper and he's in good hands but he's been set a tough ask on debut here.
Sir Percy filly, dam a half-sister to a Group 3 winner over this trip. Looked green and only showed minor promise on debut here earlier in the month. Will need to have learnt plenty from that to be a factor here.
Sakhee's Secret filly, cost £3,800 as a yearling. Dam a Listed winner over this trip and half-sister to another winner over the trip. Has shaped like she may want a step up in trip on her two starts here and qualifies for a mark after this.
Kodiac filly, cost 260,000 gns as a yearling. Related to several winners including a Listed winner over further. Shaped with plenty of promise on debut here as a juvenile and there's every chance she will improve. Market support worth noting.
Lord Shanakill filly, cost 3,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a winner and half-sister to US Grade 3 winner over further. Showed very little on debut at Yarmouth when unfancied and drop in trip unlikely to make much difference here.
Libranno filly, cost 800 gns as a yearling. Shown very little in two starts to date and hard to fancy on all known form.
Forecasts
Glenglade (5/4), Racing Country (9/4), Hateel (7/2), Spirit Of Buxted (8/1), Geranium (25/1), Cuban Spirit (33/1), Billie Beane (40/1), Lady Tulip (40/1), Patienceisavirtue (200/1)
RACING COUNTRY may be ahead of several of his rivals here with all his experience at Meydan towards the start of the year and he sets a solid standard on the run that saw him finish seventh in Listed company in March. Hateel was an expensive purchase who displayed plenty of promise here on debut; it would be no surprise to see the filly improve again. Of the remainder, Glenglade improved last time and should take another step forward.
