Landed a modest 7f Catterick maiden (6/5f) on his final start for Ed Dunlop in July 2017. Sold for £23,000 the following month, but poor on belated stable debut at Doncaster (1m).

Ten race maiden on turf, but is 3 from 8 on the AW (all wins over 6f). Well beaten on stable debut at Haydock earlier this month and the visor is discarded for the step up in trip.

Not fully exposed on turf after just two starts and is a three-time AW winner over this trip (Kempton and Lingfield); mark slowly reducing.

Struggled to win races (after threatening to do so), but has delivered in selling company on his last two starts (6f-7f) and could be stronger mentally now that he knows he's able to actually go past horses and win races.

Hamilton maiden winner on good to soft ground over 6f in September 2017 (2/7f), but poor since and hardly recommendable.

A shade in and out, but has the required ability in order to stake a claim in this type of contest; stayed on well to get within ½L of Nature Boy at Beverley on his penultimate start (7f+ good to firm).

Useful performer on the AW at Newcastle (7f), but historically not so strong on turf (2 from 35); rated 16lb inferior on grass accordingly.

Eight race maiden (formerly with Henry Candy). Shown little worthwhile form since joining this trainer for 7,500 gns in July 2017, dropping 12lb in the handicap as a result.

Not totally disgraced on handicap debut at Catterick (7f), and still lightly raced overall. However, does need to show more for the application of eye-shields (accompanies the hood); market helpful in terms of expectations.

Doesn't win all that often, but is a fairly versatile sort for this grade (5.5f-7f winner). Beaten approximately 1½L when finishing fourth of 11 to Showdance Kid at Wolverhampton (7f) latest; notable jockey booking.

Unnoticed20
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-2| J: Ben Robinson(3)| T: Ollie Pears| OR:  58| D

Won just once in 36 starts and that was way back in October 2014 (7f). Third, beaten approximately 1L by Searanger (Melaniemillie second) over 6f here last month and has fair claims of reversing that form on revised terms.

Age: 8|  Weight: 9-1| J: Cam Hardie| T: A Brittain| OR:  57| D
18/1
Back in the doldrums after a mid winter AW revival (7f Wolverhampton). Often flatters to deceive in his races and hasn't won on turf since July 2015 (1 from 22); which came at odds of 5/4f in a Catterick seller.

Closely matched with both Searanger and Unnoticed on 6f form at this track in early May, but bitterly disappointing on both subsequent starts, so a bit of a guessing game at present (twice a runner up over C&D in summer of 2017).

Won twice over this trip on the AW at Newcastle and generally consistent overall at Gosforth Park; offered limited promise on his first turf start since July 2016 when finishing sixth of 14 to Be Bold over C&D in April.

Made light of the step up in trip and the removal of blinkers to score well at Musselburgh (7f good to firm) recently. Didn't beat a great deal there, but that was a second solid run in succession; chance off 4lb higher (and now claimer ridden).

17:45 Thirsk - 19 June 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Both Acrux and Fyrecracker are recent winners, and whilst those wins were recorded in moderate races this is almost certainly little stronger. Searanger, Melaniemillie and Unnoticed (1,2,3) all locked horns over 6f here last month, but who'll come out on top today is anyone's guess with the winner unproven over 7f, the runner up woeful since, and the third with a win record of just 1 from 36. Cryptonite is worthy of mention with Josie Gordon an eye-catching booking, but we'll plump for HITMAN who has the proven ability to strike in this grade when bringing his full arsenal to the table.
  1. Hitman
  2. Fyrecracker
  3. Cryptonite
