Price increased through the ring and went for 68,000gns at Tatts Book 2 October sales last year. Has shown little in to starts to date, and now needs this for a handicap mark. Might be of more interest then.

£30,000 purchase (privately), half brother to a couple of middle distance winners and has shown a reasonable level of ability both starts. Has experience of the track, always a plus, and ought not to be far away here.

£30,000 purchase at Goffs Doncaster last year, mixed form in three starts so far, having shown plenty at Bath two starts ago he took a backwards step at Chelmsford last time. Possibly too keen there, so that best forgiven. Chances.

52,000gns purchase at Goffs Doncaster last year, is a half-sister to the winning 6f/7f Himself, who was a winner at 2. However, yard 0-18 first time up with them over the past year and on that, is passed over today.

11th foal, closely related to a host of decent types including Listed winner Prince Of Light. Showed plenty on debut at Ripon (soft ground) but not so good last time. Extra furlong here will definitely help and she could easily bounce back.

Last on debut at York but clearly learnt plenty from the experience, and finished a much better fifth to a useful one at Windsor last time. Appears to be going the right way and if handling this track, every chance of hitting the frame at worst.

11th foal, is a half-sister to multiple winners including the useful Huntdown, himself a decent 2-y-o. Trip should be fine on debut and given yard have a superb 25% strike rate here (and 23% first time up), has to be a major player.

Forecasts

Spirit Kingdom (5/4), Leoube (7/2), Nayslayer (4/1), Treasure Quest (8/1), Feel Glorious (16/1), Kodinar (16/1), Jaayiz (20/1)

18:10 Brighton - 19 June 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Quite a few can be given chances here but Mark Johnston's record with 2yo's here is very good, and SPIRIT KINGDOM might be good enough at the first time of asking. She makes plenty of appeal on paper and a bit of market support would enhance her chances. Kodinar looks ready for another furlong and a better effort may well be forthcoming, and Leoube ran a much better race at Windsor last time and seems to be getting the hang of things.
