Horse silk
9/2
Well backed when winning at Salisbury (5f, heavy) on his second outing showing the benefit of his initial experience. Put firmly in his place last time upped in grade/trip at Newbury last time on very different ground; dropped in class again.

Horse silk

Showed some promise on his debut over 5f (soft) and showed the benefit of that run second time out at Newmarket (6f, good). That remains his standout effort though as he's disappointed twice since; with top yard and could bounce back.

5/2
Could well improve from his debut run as many of the trainer's juveniles appear to these days. Only 6th on his first outing on the AW over 6f and now switched turf with the expectation he's better than he's shown.

Horse silk
66/1
First two-year-old runner of the season for a yard that aren't known for their winners in this sphere (0/31 last five years). Pedigree doesn't look particularly speedy and already gelded for his debut.

Horse silk
25/1
Very green on debut despite making some appeal on paper and well found in the market (started 7/2). Showed a little more on his second start and there may be more to come eventually; more a nursery type.
6

Horse silk
3/1
Half-sister to two middle-distance winners whose price dropped 20,000 guineas from a foal to a yearling. Trainer starting to get going for the season now but has yet to have a winner in this sphere; 0/12 so far.

Horse silk
50/1
Third foal whose dam was a winner at up to 1m2f. From a yard don't have many juvenile runners left alone winners and she's best watched on debut unless the market speaks otherwise.

Forecasts

Axel Jacklin (2/1), Balata Bay (5/2), Dutch Treat (3/1), Steeve (9/2), Triple One (25/1), Ocean Reach (50/1), Lucky Severn (66/1)

18:25 Chepstow - 15 June 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The newcomers in this don’t really make much appeal and Axel Jacklin has been rather disappointing of late although his second at Newmarket is one of the strongest pieces of form on offer if he can repeat it. It may be safer to side with the dropped in class STEEVE who was put in his place last time but will find this level more to his liking despite having to concede a penalty. Balata Bay looks sure to improve given Richard Hannon’s profile with juveniles now and he enters the mix with Triple One gaining more experience before she surely heads into nurseries.
  1. Steeve
  2. Balata Bay
  3. Axel Jacklin
