Took the first two races of his career at Brighton and Kempton (favourite both times) but has struggled a little since then in his subsequent two outings over 6f. Well below form in a conditions event last time; drops back to 5f now (nicely drawn).

Looked to need his first run at Hamilton (5f, good/firm) and certainly improved on his second start to land a minor event at Ripon. Looks as though he will be competitive under his penalty; yard not quite firing with their juveniles.

Has shown gradual progress and has course experience having finished runner-up here on his second start. Finally gained his win last time out at Hamilton (5f, good/firm) showing a lot of speed and may be more at home on a flatter track.

From a yard that have made a good start to the season with their juveniles this speedily-bred sort scored on his debut and looked capable of more. Yet to show that though and disappointed on his second start (track didn't suit); now makes turf debut.

Ran a good race to finish runner-up on debut in a race that has worked out well and duly scored next time at Brighton (short-odds favourite). Disappointed under a penalty last time at Lingfield with the possibility the ground was too quick.

Won nicely on his second start at Doncaster over 5f looking as though there was more to come and that 6f was an option. Tried over that trip last time at Pontefract (stiffer task than before) and acquitted himself well; now back at 5f (every chance).

Had twice been well fancied in the market before he got off the mark at the third attempt over C&D. No disgrace in either of his defeats and had a little bit in hand when winning here last time; faces a wide draw here so will need his experience.

Trainer 2/4 in the last five years with his juveniles he's turned in a couple of useful enough efforts on his first two starts before being highly tried last time in Listed grade. Will find this much more to his liking and needs respecting.

Failed to show much promise on his debut when only beating one home at Catterick (5f, good). Will need to have improved greatly to take a hand here.

The only newcomer in the field from a yard that haven't really got going with their juveniles this year. This one cost €90,000 at a recent breeze-up and is a half-brother to a useful US horse Tusk; might need this (has a good AW; Fibresand pedigree).

Forecasts

Victory Command (9/4), Adam Tiler (13/2), Wasntexpectingthat (7/1), Its The Only Way (7/1), Jungle Inthebungle (8/1), Tin Hat (8/1), Midnight Sands (8/1), Life of Riley (10/1), Big Ace (25/1), King Billy (66/1)

Mark Johnston landed this last year with Cardsharp and VICTORY COMMAND looks the one to side with here having run into a useful sort over 6f last time a return to a stiff 5f may well suit him. Wasntexpectingthat is already a C&D winner and he too has run into some useful types before he got off the mark, he does have quite a tricky draw though. Jungle Inthebungle is well berthed in stall 1 if he finds this a more suitable test with the penalised It’s The Only Way sure to find his easier than his last two tests. Adam Tiler could well improve and his trainer has a good record here.
  1. Victory Command
  2. Jungle Inthebungle
