Has won his last three point-to-points and duly obliged at Cartmel 11 days ago. More to do here but clearly progressive.
Winner of a couple of minor point-to-points and weak hunter chase at Fontwell. No denying he has the winning habit at present but he looks vulnerable under his penalty.

20L behind Refusal at Cartmel and hard to see any reason why he might turn the tables this time.

Winner at Easingwold last month and then sent off favourite for the "Heart Of All England" at Hexham. Looked in trouble when falling two out then, but this sharper test will be more to his liking.

Off the track since scoring at Chaddesley Corbett in December. The runner-up has won three times between the flags since, but was also well beaten at lengthy odds in a hunter chase.

Had picked up four point-to-points before running 12-time winner Thetalkinghorse to a nose on his latest start. That looks very good form and makes him one to treat seriously in receipt of his allowance. Yard are 10-31 in hunter chases since 2014.

Tailed off in a weaker race than this at Chepstow in April, but beat the runner-up in that ace at Llwyn Ddu a month ago in a first time hood. Still has plenty to find here.

Has won a couple of point-to-points his year, but beaten twice over regulation fences when let down by his jumping.

Scraped home in a Garthorpe point-to-point last month and the form does not look good enough in this grade.

Given too much to do on penultimate point-to-point start, but handsomely turned the tables on the winner next time under this rider. Needs to find a lot more to feature here.

Winnet at Chaddesley Corbett in February, but pulled up on his next three starts and had to fancy at this level of competition.

Winner at Garthorpe in February and placed in all starts since including a hunter chase last time when sent off at 33/1. Can give herself too much to do and cannot afford to do so in this grade and on this track.

Trainer knows the time of day with these sorts and this mare has improved since finishing 22L behind Bleu Et Dor in December to win her last two starts. They include a 20L defeat of Assangy and regular top amateur is on board.

Forecasts

Ballinahow Bill (11/4), Caryto Des Brosses (3/1), Pique Rock (9/2), Refusal (5/1), Steeles Terrace (10/1), Mirs Choice (14/1), Kit Barry (28/1), Lords Park Star (33/1), Essteepee (50/1), Royal Flush (50/1), Bleu Et Or (66/1), Asangy (66/1), Seamusjay (66/1)

17:35 Stratford - 8 June 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An intriguing renewal with some top point-to-point yards involved. CARYTO DES BROSSES bumped into a prolific winner last time and only went down by the minimum margin. He is a progressive young sort and effective from 2m4f-3m so this trip looks ideal. Pique Rock has been in good form lately and clearly holds Assangy on form between the flags. Recent winners Refusal and Steele's Terrace are vulnerable under their penalties, but Ballinahow Bill likes to bowl along in front and will appreciate this sharp circuit.
  1. Caryto Des Brosses
  2. Pique Rock
  3. Ballinahow Bill
