Age: 7|  Weight: 10-0| J: David Probert| T: D Donovan| OR:  70
11/4
Irish raider who has gone 15 starts without a win but wasn't disgraced last time out at Cork in an apprentice handicap (well placed but failed to make the most of it). Will find conditions very different here; not taking advantage of falling mark.

Showed a good attitude to win a Salisbury maiden (1m, good) last season but failed to make the step into handicaps in two later starts. Mark looks a little high still and has to overcome a long absence; others make more appeal.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-9| J: Darragh Keenan(7)| T: R J Price| OR:  65| C
14/1
Course winner in the past over 6f and comes here having shaped well enough on his seasonal return at Windsor (6f, good/firm). Not given a hard race there he does have to show that he can cope with this trip (0/5 at 1m).

Age: 9|  Weight: 9-6| J: Fran Berry| T: P D Evans| OR:  62
20/1
Fair handicapper who is rather struggling for form at the moment and turned in a poor effort back on turf last time out over 6f. Slow away on that occasion he needs to show some spark before he can be supported.

Remains a maiden and has been regressive since his British debut last October although this will be his first turf outing for nearly a year. Mark continues to fall but hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces finding the key to him.

Global Exceed192
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: G Mosse| T: E A L Dunlop| OR:  72

Has looked a hard ride even when he's been in winning form as he was last autumn taking a couple of handicaps at sprint trips. Ran poorly when last seen on the AW some time ago again running in snatches; one to treat with caution.

Reappears after a long absence and when last seen he ran poorly on his handicap debut on the AW over 6f. Lightly-raced for one of his age and now tries turf on the Flat for the first time; best watched on balance.

Quite possibly had plenty in her favour when winning on the AW in a small-field handicap in April over a trip further than today's. Shaped well enough last time (again on AW) but on balance not one to support off this mark.

Could go around here in his sleep (seven-time course winner, three C&D) but he's been running poorly for a while now both over hurdles and on the Flat. Has fallen appreciably in the weights but lacks any spark of late and hasn't won since 2015.

Living Leader21
Age: 9|  Weight: 9-0| J: L Morris| T: G Harris| OR:  49| C| D

Course winner whose recent AW form has been rather poor with the odd exception who now returns to turf. Last run may have been a little better than the form book indicates but runs from well out of the handicap.

Makes his seasonal debut (still a maiden) from well out of the handicap having looked very modest in the majority of his starts so far. Well held when last seen and looks to have a very tough task in this.

Bombshell Bayp29

Awarded a Windsor handicap last time after suffering interference from the demoted winner (form franked). Had plenty of racing as a juvenile and raised 3lb for that last "win" but still looks to have some improvement left in him against this bunch.

14:45 Chepstow - 22 May 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There don’t look to be that many who can improve of their current marks in this although VIXEN is one who could especially if she behaves herself this time around. Her Salisbury win showed that she had ability as things didn’t go ideally and she may be able to make up for her Nottingham misdemeanours. Bombshell Bay gained his Windsor win in the Stewards Room but deservedly so after being badly bumped (more than once) and he’s sure to take a hand here. Most of the others make little appeal although course winner Champagne Bob would have a place chance if he stays this 1m trip.
