Five-year-old Haafhd mare makes Flat debut having finished second in modest four-runner Southwell AW bumper on only previous outing. This is a different challenge and she looks up against it.

Sleeping Indian filly has shown very little in two starts so far, the first for Michael Dods and the second on debut for current connections. Hard to fancy.

10th of 14 on debut at Wetherby last month in 7f contest, making some modest late headway. Much more needed here and looks as though she will need more time.

Faded out of contention in two maiden last autumn. May do better this year for good yard who have made a fine start to the season but on balance she should find a few too good once again.

Finished third three times last season, including in a maiden and a mile handicap. Ran poorly on soft ground at Doncaster on seasonal return in March so still has to prove she's trained on. If she has, she won't be far away at this level.

60,000 guineas Zebedee gelding didn't show much on debut over 6f last month but did a little better over a mile at Thirsk last week. Still has something to find but improvement not ruled out.

Two good efforts at Wolverhamton AW last autumn, failing by just a neck to get off the mark over extended 9f in December. Pulled hard and appeared not to handle soft ground on turf bow in March but worth another chance.

Hinted at ability in both starts so far and being out of a dam who half-sister to St Leger winner Bollin Eric she should improve over further. Looks one for handicaps in due course.

Stimulation filly cost just 1800 guineas at auction in February. Racecourse debut here and makes little appeal on paper. Worth a market check though hailing from good yard.

Olden Times filly, runner-up at both Kempton and Goodwood from three starts last term. Joined current yard form Roger Varian last month. Sets the standard on form although stable going through lean spell.

Forecasts

Savaanah (8/11), Voyager Blue (7/2), Creel (5/1), Chikoko Trail (17/2), Mary Mapel (20/1), Born In Thorne (33/1), Towton (33/1), Bollin Joan (50/1), My Cherokee (66/1), Billy Wedge (66/1)

17:05 Redcar - 21 May 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Savaanah is likely to be all the rage and she should go very close, but there is a suspicion there could be better to come from VOYAGER BLUE on this fairly quick surface. He didn't act on soft on turf debut but had previously shown ability on the AW. The rest are fairly unexposed and there could be improvement seen from Chikoko Trail, Towton and Bollin Joan, while Creel is worth a glance having shown fair form last term.
  1. Voyager Blue
  2. Savaanah
  3. Towton
