Consistent around the turn of the year, winning in deep ground at Market Rasen in January (2m5f+). Just 2lb above that mark today and has ran with credit on better ground here in the past.

Capable, but not the easiest of rides as he demonstrated when winning at Hexham in September (3m heavy). Has failed to complete in four of his last five starts, so that tendency to make mistakes rates as a major concern.

10/3
Lightly raced mare who was a winner on her chasing debut at Newton Abbot in October (3m2f good); likely on the wrong end of things when a late faller at Fakenham latest, but holds every chance if as effective going right-handed.

Beaten off this mark at Sedgefield latest (2m3f+ good), but not disgraced in finishing just over 5L fourth to Justforjames. Impossible to knock his previous form; landing a chasing/hurdles hat-trick at Musselburgh (2mf-3m); conditions fine today.

Prominent racer with a tendency to disappoint more often than he delivers. That said; when on song he's tough to peg back. Bombed out fresh from a break at Hexham recently (3m good) and that's generally when best to catch him right.

Clearly had his share of training problems being fairly lightly raced for his age, but reverts to fences for the first time since scoring by 11L over C&D (soft) in July 2016; so merits inspection at a track where he is 2-3 (career).

Shanroe Street22
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-6| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR:  113| D
9/2
A winner at Carlisle in March (3m good to soft), he raced prominently and was in contention but hard pressed when falling at the last over C&D last month in a race won by Rainy City; up 2lb but ground versatile.

Royal Tara23
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-3| J: Aidan Coleman| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  110| D
10/3
Point/Hunter Chase winner who had wind surgery after joining his current trainer. Slowly getting the hang of things under rules, albeit beaten 8L when runner up to Leith Hill Lad over 3m (good to soft) at Exeter last month.

Forecasts

Royal Tara (10/3), Maid Of Milan (10/3), Shanroe Street (9/2), Until Winning (5/1), Wicked Spice (6/1), Nefyn Bay (8/1), Tickenwolf (14/1), Blue Kascade (28/1)

15:40 Perth - 17 May 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A fast early pace appears to be guaranteed with many of these horses appreciating adopting the prominent racing position; none more so than the exasperating Blue Kascade. Nefyn Bay might at first glance appear to be vulnerable from his current mark, but he wasn't totally disgraced at Sedgefield latest and looks certain to run his usual solid race. Maid Of Milan should be considered in first time cheek-pieces if adapting to this right-handed track, but the vote just sways towards SHANROE STREET. He was about to be reeled in when falling at the last over C&D latest, but that was an improved effort nevertheless, and he's a ground versatile improving chaser.
  1. Shanroe Street
  2. Maid Of Milan
  3. Nefyn Bay
