Placed behind Idaho in the Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) at the Royal meeting over C&D and while he was only second when an even money favourite in a Listed race at York in July, he brings the best form in to this and will be hard to beat.
Didn't need to improve to gain his first win since his maiden success at Wolvehrampton last time. Found life tough in Group company last year but placed in Listed class prior to that and place claims here.
Not won since landing his maiden at Doncaster. Ran well in three runs at pattern level without landing a blow last term but disappointed when last seen back at Doncaster when a short priced favourite. Needs to bounce back on reappearance.
Rounded off his juvenile campaign with placed efforts in Group 1s. Again produced his best form at the end of last season with placed efforts in Group 2s in France and while a reproduction of that would see him go close here, he may need the run.
Runner-up in this race in 2016 but only seen once subsequently (well beaten in Ascot Gold Cup 2016) and hard to fancy on return from the lengthy absence.
Improved from maiden company to win a Listed race at Newmarket in July and ran to similar level when landing a Group 3 at Deauville on next start. Well beaten in a Group 1 at the end of the year but respected on return with scope for improvement.
Forecasts
Barsanti (10/11), Mirage Dancer (4/1), Salouen (6/1), God Given (8/1), Glencadam Glory (10/1), Scotland (33/1)
The form of BARSANTI's second in a Group 2 over course and distance is the best form in the race and he will prove hard to beat if he can reproduce something close to that effort. God Given could still be improving while Salouen has performed well at pattern level before.
