Showed improved form last time out having been gelded and stepped up in trip on Fibresand (1m4f). Travelled in a far more tractable manner than before (made all) and forged clear (won 9L). Up 10lb for that win and now back on turf for a repeat.

Hinted at some ability last year over much shorter trips (7f maximum tried) and looked the type who would do better in handicaps. Has to overcome an absence but bred to stay this sort of trip and more can be expected; market to be noted.

Both of the Mark Johnston fillies have disappointed of late and step up in trip Poetic Steps has yet to beat a rival this year while Birdette didn’t look as though she needed this trip on the evidence of her last run. AMADEUS certainly looked the more finished article last time out but has to cope with a 10lb higher mark and a different surface although front-running tactics could well prove to be the order of the day again. Both Pretty Moi and Lever Du Soleil go handicapping for the first time and that should bring some improvement about in both with the latter the one likely to show the most progress although he does have a lengthy absence to cope with.
