Maiden for Mark Johnston but not without ability, returns from a nine-month layoff here for new trainer and worth paying attention.

Previous C&D winner, has been disappointing in recent runs but blinkers are back on now and entitled to be in the mix if bouncing back to form.

Four-time course winner has gone 20 runs without a win now and isn't getting any younger. Well held here in a seller in March. Opposable.

Held since winning over C&D last May. Handicap mark is falling as a result, now 3lb below that mark, and second at Lingfield last month on comeback. Chances to go well.

Regular around here and has won over this trip and further in the past. Been a bit below best over 1m4f of late, needs to perk up now dropped in distance.

Has shown a liking for this course and this is his level. C&D winner in February, his only strike from 22 attempts so far. Went well again last time and can be considered amongst these rivals.

Lightly-raced maiden, failed to beat a rival home at Lingfield last month over a mile and hard to recommend for now.

17:55 Wolverhampton - 2 May 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CARIBBEAN SPRING won this race 12 months ago following a sound reappearance run at Lingfield and, second there last month, he's got every chance of repeating the trick on these terms back here. Monday's winner Shamonix will find this tougher under the penalty but cannot be ruled out while former course winner Misu Pete scored at Yarmouth yesterday and would be interesting now if turned out again from a 3lb lower mark on the AW. Jeremy's Jet and Outlaw Torn are worth a look.
