5/4
Had a pedigree that appealed on paper and lived up to that when winning on his debut at Newcastle (1m2f, slow) taking a maiden in professional fashion. He failed to build on that run though switched to turf (testing conditions); worth another chance.

Left Mick Channon for whom she made a winning debut late last year at Nottingham over a mile. A 25/1 chance there she delivered more than expected although that speed test may have played to her strengths; stamina will be tested here.

Showed some ability on both his starts last year but steps up markedly in trip here given a stiff examination. Likely to be outclassed and will be seen to better effect in handicaps.

Still a maiden and well held in a handicap on testing ground last time at Windsor over a mile. Doesn't have the scope to improve that some of these have and likely to be placed at best.

Tesorina9
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: L Morris| T: W J Knight| OR:  61
12/1
Most of her form is modest and she failed to land a telling blow on her handicap debut last time racing freely and finishing well held. Hood worn on her last two starts is now dispensed with.

The only newcomer in the field she only cost £2,500 recently although she does have plenty of winning relations in her pedigree. Her stable do well with their debut runners and it will be interesting to see what the market makes of her.

Forecasts

Morning Skye (5/4), Fayrouz Rose (2/1), Warmhearted (6/1), Rainbow Jazz (9/1), Tesorina (12/1), Stockings Lane (33/1)

19:10 Brighton - 2 May 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The two that have already been beaten in handicaps Rainbow Jazz and Tesorina will find this a tough ask at the weights and this extra two furlongs looks as though it may test the stamina of Fayrouz Rose. Warmhearted is an interesting newcomer from a stable that are going from strength-to-strength and she should be noted in the market. This might be a good opportunity though for MORNING SKYE to bounce back to his best under less testing conditions than he faced last time having impressed on his debut.
  1. Morning Skye
  2. Warmhearted
  3. Fayrouz Rose
