11/4
Winner at Chepstow last month in novice company, held since at Exeter in 2m1f heavy-ground handicap but likely to be in the mix on these terms back amongst novices.

Sensulano30
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: Noel Williams| OR:  126
5/4
Winner of a 2m5f heavy-ground novices' hurdle at Warwick in January, well held in Grade 2 novice company since at Sandown and Newbury but should hold leading claims in this line-up.
Made a winning rules debut for this rider (after a three-year absence) at Towcester last month (2m5f, heavy). Appeared to have plenty left in the locker and respected for the champion trainer once more.

Burn Valley71
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: C L Tizzard
66/1
Represents the Tizzard team but is another with just two low key efforts in bumpers under her belt and must improve significantly now tackling obstacles to be involved at the business end.
6
Horse silk
16/1
Chased home the favourite last month in a Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2m7f, heavy) at Haydock on debut. Should improve on that run and be competitive once again.
Mare is well-related and will likely leave form of two autumn bumper runs behind in time. First outing over sticks on return to action and is worth a second look in the betting for the Hobbs team.

Basically disappointing since joining this trainer for £30,000 in May 2017. All hopes of a revival are pinned on recent wind surgery. Any market support could prove telling, but each-way hopes at best surely.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: M G Nolan| T: R Mitford-Slade
50/1
Winning point-to-pointer from a small yard that have had some success with similar types this season. Struggled on hurdles bow at Taunton (2m3f, heavy) earlier in the month.
10
Horse silk
14/1
Promising efforts in two of three bumpers (disappointed in Aintree Grade 2) before spending a year on the sidelines. Didn't always jump fluently on hurdles bow at Huntingdon last month and needs chunk of improvement.
11
Horse silk
200/1
Failed to complete in hurdles starts at Towcester (2m, heavy) and Fontwell (2m3f, soft) thus far and very hard to recommend on that evidence.
Will need to improve on efforts in trio of maiden hurdles to date. Goes up in trip for handicap debut and trainer going along nicely.

Forecasts

Sensulano (5/4), With Discretion (11/4), Dinos Benefit (11/4), Storm Patrol (14/1), Drill Baby Drill (16/1), Jennifer Juniper (33/1), Ruby Fool (50/1), Youngoconnor (66/1), Hurlstone Point (66/1), Audora (66/1), Burn Valley (66/1), Sunset Skye (200/1)

14:00 Newton Abbot - 23 April 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

With Discretion made a winner start over timber after a long absence for the Seven Barrows team last month and is clearly one to respect again but SENSULANO scored at Warwick in January and will find this easier than the pair of Grade 2 novice events she has contested since. With the experience on her side, this looks a chance to get back to winning ways. Dinos Benefit and Drill Baby Drill are also expected to be in the shake-up.
  1. Sensulano
  2. With Discretion
  3. Dinos Benefit
