Cost £20,000 in December after finishing 10L runner-up in an Irish point-to-point. Now makes rules debut for a stable that is 18% in bumpers this season and a good run would not surprise.

Horse silk

Cost €4,200 at three. Second foal. Dam unplaced in a bumper on her only start, closely related to bumper/2m hurdle/chase winner Nicolas Chauvin. Stable having its first bumper runner here and probably one to watch.

Her 3½L third to Cheltenham champion bumper winner Relegate on their respective debuts reads well now and she has since joined this trainer. He is 0-9 in this sphere this season but good claimer booked and has to be of interest.

12-1 and made a pleasing debut when fourth of nine, beaten 5L at Bangor 11-months ago. Should be capable of improving on that with almost another year under her belt and looks a probable contender here.
Her €2,100 sale price as a foal increased to €10,000 at three. Third foal of an unraced half-sister to useful 2m4f-3m hurdle/chase winner Handy Andy and two bumper winners. Stable just 1-16 in bumpers this season. Market check.

9-1 and ran well on debut in a maiden bumper when fourth of 12 beaten less than 8L. Stable 2-4 in bumpers this season and has always been one to respect in this sphere, so another very competitive effort is anticipated.
9
Horse silk
12/1
Second foal of a useful 2m7f-3m1f hurdle/chase winner out of 2m3f-3m3f hurdle/chase winner. Trainer not noted for winners in this sphere, although obviously noteworthy, so this filly is probably best watched.

Horse silk
20/1
€31,000 purchase last June. Second foal of a useful 2m2f-2m4f chase winning half-sister to useful 2m4f/2m5f chase winner Carigeen Victor, a bumper winner and to dam of Irish National winer Rogue Angel. Interesting newcomer.
20-1 and ran green when beaten less than 4L into second in a heavy ground Wetherby bumper on debut last month. Should come on for that experience and probably also for less testing ground. Short-listed.

Horse silk
18/1
Made marginal improvement for her Ascot debut when tried in a maiden bumper at Bangor last time. No reason why she can't do better still today, though likely to need significant improvement to win.
13
Horse silk
66/1
Second foal of a mare placed in a bumper and a full-sister to bumper winner Bentons Choice. One of two in the race for her trainer having her first runners in this sphere. Concern that visor goes on first time but market check prudent.

Horse silk
4/1
Cost €6,200 as a yearling and €50,000 at three. First foal of a point-to-point winning full-sister to bumper winner African Gold and 3m hurdle winner Follow The Bear. Stable 0-15 this season in bumpers, but market check prudent.

Forecasts

Indefatigable (11/4), The White Mouse (4/1), Manon (5/1), Sweet Adare (7/1), Papagana (7/1), Lady Chartreuse (10/1), Gayton (12/1), Carrolls Milan (14/1), My Lady Grey (18/1), Kalifornia (20/1), Poperinghe Ginger (25/1), Granny Frankham (25/1), Noisy Neighbour (66/1), Flying Feathers (66/1)

19:55 Southwell - 20 April 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Manon ran well in spite of greenness on debut at Wetherby and has to be considered again here but the eyecatching form on the racecard was by INDEFATIGABLE, who ran well behind subsequent Grade 1 winner Relegate on her sole run in Ireland and even if that flattered her a little, she would have strong claims in this line-up. Carrolls Milan is interesting for a trainer who does well in this sphere, while both Papagana and Lady Chartreuse are considered.
  1. Indefatigable
  2. Manon
  3. Papagana
