Last seen out over hurdles (showed aptitude for that discipline) late last year but remains a maiden on the Flat. Not in much form when last seen on the level he returns here having dropped quickly in the handicap but needs to show more zip.

Formerly a fairly useful performer he went through 2017 badly out of sorts and offered very little when last seen off a 4lb higher mark. Tongue-tie worn for last four starts is now left off but hard to make a case for him.

Still searching for a belated first win and was running well before being sent to race at St Moritz on snow (appeared not to enjoy the experience). Did little better on his return though over 1m4f at Lingfield and hard to recommend here.

His last run and win went very much to plan as he got the run of the race stepping up in trip to 1m2f with blinkers back on. Slight hint that he was lucky to win that and this is a step up in class/trip off a 7lb higher mark which will test him.

Last win came over hurdles (October 2016) and he's shown very little in two runs on the Flat since then and was always behind over 1m4f here last time. Not the most straightforward either and can only be watched for now.

Yard has been in decent form of late and this course winner looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper. Shaped a better than his final position on his penultimate run and beaten by a wide draw last time; could be one to watch in market.

Hood now joins his usual tongue-tie as he bids to back up a creditable run over 3f further last time (raced freely, short of room late on). Does need to settle better than he has so far though to be seen at his best; course winner.

A winner over 1m3f here in January off a 5lb lower mark he's shaped better than his final finishing position in two subsequent starts (off slightly higher marks than today). Failed to see his race out last time and this trip may be ideal for him.

Given plenty to do but did it well when belatedly getting off the mark here on his penultimate start confirming some former promise over 1m4f here. Tried over the same C&D next time he looked as though he needed a stiffer test and drops in trip here.

Now tried in a handicap for the first time having shown ability in an AW maiden when with William Haggas. Not really fired for his current yard as yet (also tried over hurdles) but showed a little more dropped into a claimer last time; more needed.

Wind the clock back to 2016 and he was a fairly useful performer but he's rather lost his way since then and despite the handicapper dropping him quickly he's not taken advantage. Finished last of seven last time and now drops back in trip.

Has built a decent record around Chelmsford (won two of her last four there) although she did have the run of the race when finishing 2nd there last time. Has 1f further to go here and hasn't shown up as well here in two starts so far.

Thriving in December/January winning three of his four starts over 1m4f in low-grade handicaps but looking good while doing so. Last run (back from a break) confirmed that he could cope with this sort of mark and he remains of interest down in trip.

Came into the year off a break but has looked in good form and deserved to win last time after a run of placed efforts. Did well to win having been poorly placed in a race run at a slow pace; could well defy a higher mark given a stronger pace.

Forecasts

Intermodal (5/1), Iley Boy (5/1), Famous Dynasty (6/1), Broad Appeal (13/2), Bird For Life (7/1), Archimento (8/1), Freud (9/1), Malt Teaser (10/1), Huddersfilly Town (14/1), Deleyll (20/1), Diamond Reflection (25/1), Nobel Duke (25/1), Austin Friars (33/1), Jamhoori (66/1)

18:45 Kempton - 18 April 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Quite an intriguing little race for the grade although a strong pace will be needed for a few of these to show their best. Deleyll won last time bit looked to have that race go his way and he’ll need the same good fortune to win this. Diamond Reflection comes into the equation over a trip that may be ideal while Famous Dynasty has hinted that he’ll need a stiffer test to be seen at his best. Huddersfilly Town has been in good form but has shown her best around Chelmsford so ILEY BOY is given the vote here having looked as good as he was before his break last time although in a strongly run race Bird For Life may push him close having done well to win last time.
  1. Iley Boy
  2. Bird For Life
  3. Diamond Reflection
