Successful over an extended 2m3f at Wetherby (soft) in a first time tongue tie (retained since) in December and has run well in defeat on all four starts since including when second at Wetherby (1m7f, soft) last time out.
Made a winning debut for this yard in a novice chase at Ayr (heavy) in February and finished a close second there subsequently. Well held on his return to handicaps over an extended 2m5f last time out and this drop in trip should suit.
Held second over C&D on heavy ground in January and well beaten at Wetherby since. Races off a mark 4lb lower than when winning at Ayr (soft) in October but needs to return to form if he's to take this contest.
Victorious on good-to-soft ground over 2m at Perth back in August and some sound efforts in defeat since including when third in a novice contest at Musselburgh last time. Forecast underfoot conditions are softer than ideal.
Finished runner-up to Vengeur De Guye at Ayr (soft) in October and ran well when fourth at Catterick subsequently. Returning from a break having pulled up at Haydock last time out.
Successful off a 1lb lower mark on heavy ground over 2m2f at Ayr in February last year. Held by a couple of these on running at Ayr in October and returning to fences following a break having finished fifth in a hurdle at Ayr in December.
Recorded his third victory over fences when winning over an extended 2m at Sedgefield (soft) last time. A 6lb rise for that success doesn't look overly harsh and he is one for the shortlist today.
Winning for the first time under rules when victorious over an extended 2m at Newcastle (soft) on his penultimate outing. Pulled up at Sedgefield subsequently and probably best watched at present.
Forecasts
Oak Vintage (5/2), Martiloo (10/3), Caraline (9/2), Vengeur De Guye (5/1), Bobbie's Diamond (10/1), Charlie Snow Angel (14/1), Halcyon Days (16/1), Craiganboy (20/1)
OAK VINTAGE was winning for the third time this season when successful last time out and he can defy a 6lb rise in the weights to claim this competitive looking handicap chase. The selection has run well on heavy ground in the past and can get the better of top weight Caraline who can claim second under amateur rider Becky Smith. Promising amateur rider Bruce Lynn is taken to finish third on Bobbie's Diamond who drops in trip today having disappointed over further last time out.
