Comes here on the back of a respectable effort over 6f at Chelmsford having won over the same C&D earlier in the year taking advantage of a reduced mark. This mark doesn't look to be a problem although it is his first try on this unique surface.

Took advantage of a much reduced mark and the run of the race when winning on Tapeta over 5f in September. Not the most straightforward though and he failed to build on that run and now tries a new surface off a significant break.

Has looked more and more suited by this surface recording his best effort last time out over this trip. Only beaten by one who is very at home over C&D and this looks a little easier; allowed to run off the same mark and a leading chance.

Despite having only one win to his name he generally runs well here and has plenty of placed form to his name. Turned in his best effort for quite some time over C&D last time and repeat of that would see him go close here off 1lb higher.

First effort on Fibresand coming back from a break having taken a minor event on Tapeta over 6f when last seen. Has run well enough over the minimum trip but faces a couple that look to be well suited by Fibresand; this might be tough off an absence.

Seven previous tries on Fibresand have yielded very little and his record stands at 0/7. Recent form hardly has you rushing to back him and others offer a much stronger case on this surface.

Lightly-raced maiden who has looked limited on what she has shown so far and now is asked to make her Fibresand debut. Well beaten last time and would have to find improvement to take a hand here.

His previous try over C&D did very little to inspire and he's not been seen since running poorly at Catterick last May. Formerly useful he appears to retain little ability these days.

13:50 Southwell - 4 April 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Form on this surface is often the deciding factor in these races and DAPPER MAN despite not winning on Fibresand yet has run some good races here especially on his last two visits and he deserves to get off the mark here. Archie Stevens is another with a good record here and having produced one of his best runs on the surface last time out is the main danger here. Racquet is lurking on a dangerous mark if he takes to Fibresand and is ready to go while the far from straightforward Groundworker and another newcomer Fareeq to Fibresand are worth watching in the market.
