Out Samt,v8
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| OR:  132
9/2
Not the most reliable, though produced sound run last time behind Poormans Hill in Ulster National over trip that may have been stretching his reserves. Chance on revised terms, down in trip.
2
Horse silk
Close Shave23
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: B J Geraghty| T: Mrs J Harrington| OR:  131| C
10/1
Course winner here in January but pulled in the Leinster National last time, leaving impression that sort of trip is beyond his optimum. Back down in trip, could bounce back.
3
Horse silk
Poormans Hillp8
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: Jack Kennedy| T: G Elliott| OR:  130| C
11/2
Dour staying ability helped him prevail in the Ulster National most recently, has seven wins from 15 outings this term and despite latest 10lb hike and drop in trip, wouldn't be one to overlook easily.
4
Horse silk
Baily Moonp,t255
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-3| J: A Ring(3)| T: M F Morris| OR:  128| D
25/1
Scored a couple of wins over fences in the summer, but mark pushed right up as a result and struggled from a way in Midlands National at Kilbeggan in July when last out. Others have achieved plenty more and comes here off 255-day absence.
5
Horse silk
Rogue Angelb,t23
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-3| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: M F Morris| OR:  128| C
7/1
Won the big event on this card in 2016, not scored since and more poor efforts than good ones. Better last time behind National favourite Pairofbrowneyes at Gowran, but still a way to go if hoping to go well.
6

White Armb,t50
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: Mark Walsh| T: A J Martin| OR:  123| CD
9/1
C&D winner this time last year, though now 15lb higher in the ratings and failed to get around in two of four starts this term. Won at Punchestown in December though, so clearly a threat if in the mood.
8
Horse silk
Paper Lanternb112
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-11| J: Donagh Meyler| T: K Thornton| OR:  122| BF| C
14/1
Course winner amongst three successes in 2017, has struggled at times this season and long way behind Poormans Hill at Down Royal in November. Penultimate run at Naas more like it, blinkers added now and chance of bouncing back to form.
9
Horse silk
Routes Choice23
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-10| J: B Browne(5)| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  121
16/1
Some useful efforts this season without winning, mixed with some no-shows. Probably high enough in ratings and likely to be found wanting in this line-up.
10
Horse silk
Bearly Legalt149
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-8| J: Robbie Colgan| T: K Thornton| OR:  119
40/1
Losing sequence out to 14 now and dates back to 2016, no match for Poormans Hill at Down Royal in November when last spotted and hard to see him turning it around despite pull at the weights.
11
Horse silk
Oscar Lantern8
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-2| J: M A Enright| T: C Byrnes| OR:  113
7/1
Just the one win from 15 over fences, holding off Routes Choice at Punchestown in November over this sort of trip. More than 10L behind Poormans Hill last time at Down Royal but 10lb better off now and capable of getting into the shake-up.
12
Horse silk
Kilfordt151
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-1| J: A W Short(5)| T: L Whitmore| OR:  112
25/1
Getting on now at 12-years-old and that has started to show in two runs this season. Tongue tie is added now but easier to make case for others at the moment.
13
Horse silk
Dinnie's Vinniep8
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: L P Dempsey| T: J P Dempsey| OR:  111| CD
12/1
Former C&D winner has three wins from seven runs this season but comes here on the back of a poor effort eight days ago at Down Royal in Ulster National won by re-opposing Poormans Hill.
14
Horse silk
Anseanachai Clistep8
Age: 10|  Weight: 9-13| J: D Robinson(5)| T: Alan Wells| OR:  110
20/1
Didn't get past the second in defence of Ulster National at Down Royal recently, form of late leaves him with plenty to work on and others appeal more.
15
Horse silk
Stoughan Crosst8
Age: 9|  Weight: 9-12| J: J M Moore| T: T Gibney| OR:  109
25/1
More letters than numbers beside his name of late, pulled up very early on at Down Royal just eight days ago and hard to trust his well-being so quickly on the back of that.
16
Horse silk
Nomanbehindt94
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-11| J: A E Lynch| T: Anthony Curran| OR:  108
16/1
Only had three starts over fences, running behind the likes of Arkle winner Footpad and Al Boum Photo, who won here yesterday. Pulled up at Limerick in December, makes handicap bow and worth a betting check to gauge hopes.

17:45 Fairyhouse - 2 April 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Poormans Hill continues to thrive and was dour in landing the Ulster National last time. He'll make his usual bid but is up another 10lb and might be in the handicapper's clutches. Out Sam ran much better behind him in that contest and would go close with a repeat while White Arm is capable if turning up in the mood. Paper Lantern was good at Naas on his penultimate outing and is considered but GOULANE DAVINA might be the answer off an improved effort at Naas recently. He's unexposed over this sort of trip and is on a fair mark. He also brings Dinnie's Vinnie into things, though he was poor at Down Royal a week ago.
  1. Goulane Davina
  2. Poormans Hill
  3. Out Sam
