Seemed to have his own ideas about the game last year, refusing to race at York in August and being runner-up three times. Went close over this trip back there in October, handles cut and may do better now gelded. Considered.
Didn't show a whole lot in two starts in September. Since been gelded and may be capable of doing better now with another winter under his belt. Will need significant improvement to figure but wouldn't rule that out if market vibes are positive.
€32,000 yearling. Second foal. Half-brother to Italian 5f-5½f winner Hochinawa (inc. at two) out of 5f-6f winner (inc at two). Grandam a 5f juvenile Listed winner. Stable can get them ready first time, so market check prudent.
Has been making steady improvement and although he is 0-6, he went close at York (6f, good to soft) in August and ran well in a valuable Doncaster sales race in September. Gelded since and now back after a break with solid claims here.
First foal of a 1m-1m½f AW winning half-sister to useful 1m4f-1m6f winner The Tartan Spartan and 1m/1m1f Flat/2m3f hurdle winner Sarah Joyce. Trip looks a good starting point and couldn't rule out a decent debut, though market should provide a clue.
11-1 and ran well enough for a long way on debut at Newcastle earlier in the month before fading to be beaten 17L. Still has to prove that she gets this far but she should be able to improve and a better effort is probable.
Forecasts
Queen's Sargent (15/8), Chief Justice (15/8), Farhh Away (6/1), Hop Maddocks (9/1), Zig Zag Zyggy (9/1), On A May Day (16/1), Party Fears Too (25/1)
QUEEN'S SARGENT has been making gains with each visit to the racecourse and he could begin to kick on as a three-year-old and is taken to break his duck this time. Chief Justice looks a likely threat in opposition, while Farhh Away and On A May Day could improve on what we have seen so far. Market checks also look prudent with regard to both Hop Maddocks and Zig Zag Zyggy.
