Has a good record, though becoming increasingly inconsistent. Conditions/trip no problem for him, though will probably need to be somewhere near his best to defy this mark and not sure he can be relied upon to produce that at present.
Was an improved performer in 2017 and ran well in defeat from this mark at both Doncaster in December and over 3m at Musseburgh in January. Pulled up behind Samcro at Cheltenham last week and not sure drop in trip looks ideal despite headgear.
Back to his best when allowed a sizeable lead at Sedgefield and scoring by 12L last time out (2m1f, soft). 7lb rise looks attractive on paper but it may not be form to take literally and, while respected, he will need to raise his game again.
Reeled off a hat-trick in early 2017 on soft/good to soft and was back to form in handicap company at Kempton when last seen in January when 5L second to a subsequent Grade 3 handicap winner. 3lb rise looks fair and he is short-listed.
Scored twice as a novice in the autumn (on good to soft/heavy) and bettered that in defeat under a penalty at Musselburgh. Out of sorts on handicap debut and beaten a mile at Cheltenham last week, so has a bit to prove despite 3lb drop.
Scored in handicap company at Sedgefield in December (2m1f, soft) when 4lb lower. Finished 7L adrift of Don Bersy at Kempton in January and well held at Huntingdon last time. Not beyond improvement and will probably need some to win this.
1-9 over hurdles, his win being at the first attempt in 2015. Improved before end of that season, but not yet got back to that form this term following a lengthy absence. Hinted at possible revival last time and on a handy mark if he can stage one.

Forecasts
Don Bersy (3/1), Viserion (4/1), Always Resolute (4/1), Reverant Cust (4/1), Ahead of The Curve (5/1), Beeno (5/1), Mirsaale (12/1), Golden Jeffrey (14/1), Dark And Dangerous (20/1)
The form of DON BERSY's latest run at Kempton has worked out well and the five-year-old is taken to defy a 3lb rise and come good again on ground that suits. Beeno is not ruled out and his opponents will need to be mindful of his latest win when probably given too much rope. Reverant Cust should be on the premises, while Viserion has a bit to find with the selection, but it not ruled out of the frame.
