Took a step back in the right direction on his first run for his yard after a break although he's far from back to his best form shown as a juvenile. If he takes to the surface though (debut here) he certainly looks very well handicapped.

Took advantage of a career low mark to win over C&D but he's 5lb higher than that mark now and looks to be struggling to be competitive off it. Ran poorly last time out and once again is best watched here.

Not seen since last summer when he found his good run of form when disappointing at Ayr over 6f having won two handicaps over that trip previously. Returns on a new surface having had some wind surgery; worth a watch in the market.

Makes his yard/Fibresand debut having been absent all winter (previously with William Haggas). Both his wins came over this trip and he looks capable of better off this sort of mark although it remains to be seen how he copes with Fibresand.

Progressed well last year and won twice here over 5f proving himself on Fibresand although his form rather tailed off at the end of the year. Given a break and chance by the handicapper he's can't be discounted here even over 6f.

A winner here in the past on Fibresand including over this trip her return from a recent break failed to inspire. Once again she hung badly when asked for an effort and comes here with plenty to prove.

After running poorly here on his debut he's really got to grips with the surface winning twice over C&D overcoming a 10lb rise on the second occasion. Upped in trip to 7f last time here he ran with credit but will be more suited by this trip.

A real stalwart on this surface and produced his best effort for ages when winning here over 5f last time in a similar contest from out of the handicap. Carries a penalty here back up in trip; should run well but maybe better at 5f.

Back in headgear (cheekpieces) he made a winning debut on Fibresand 0ver C&D and followed up on his next run. Both those wins came off much lower marks his consistency since means he struggling with the handicapper; ought to have won more than he has

15:05 Southwell - 13 March 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Just about the best race on the card in terms of quality with Afandem an interesting contender and very well handicapped if he takes to this surface, his sire Vale Of York has a decent record here. Both Crosse Fire and Kommander Kirkup have been in good for here of late although the former might be better at 5f and the latter has slipped back to his old last style of racing lately. Pennsylvania Dutch is another newcomer worth noting but ANGEL PALANAS is given the overall vote having shown that he acts really well on Fibresand and he may just appreciate this move back to 6f a trip he’s won twice over here.
  1. Angel Palanas
  2. Afandem
  3. Kommander Kirkup
