Knocking on the door in recent outings, including when just touched off in a Newcastle bumper on his latest start. Returns to hurdles in first-time cheekpieces and has to be taken seriously.
Off the mark at the fifth attempt over hurdles and followed that up in another handicap at Catterick. Up 11lb for those two successes, but is on the up and looks sure to be involved at the business end.
Back-to-back chase victories at this track in December and January, but the handicapper had his say and she was beaten a long way on her next start. Pulled up in the 4m Eider Chase last time and reverts to hurdles off a fair mark.
Took this 12 months ago and now approaching the veteran stage and recent efforts suggest he is not as good as he was. Dropping down the weights, but others are preferred.
Forecasts
Western Rules (5/4), Dedigout (15/8), Lochnell (4/1), Chu Chu Percy (9/2), Another Mattie (10/1), Askamore Darsi (12/1)
Dedigout has gone up 5lb even though he was beaten last time, so this is best left to the progressive CHU CHU PERCY, who can defy another weight rise. Western Rules, just touched off in a bumper at Newcastle, may be his chief danger, while Lochnell is not too badly treated on her return to hurdling.
