Dual AW winner who gained first turf success at Bath in August but wasn't sighted again until a low-key return at Kempton last month. Will be sharper for that blow-out and not dismissed lightly from a good draw.
Experienced campaigner who won a claimer over 6f here in November and 5f seller at Southwell last month for Derek Shaw. Only third when fancied over 6f here on debut for this yard on Wednesday, down in trip now.
Front-runner who defied his advancing years to win three times last year and made an encouraging reappearance over C&D when a close-up fourth behind Dynamo Walt. Well drawn to attack and should be competitive.
Course-specialist with six wins (including 4 over C&D) but ended last season with some moderate efforts. Yard quiet ahead of her return and, though she is no forlorn hope at best, others look more persuasive.
Signed off last season with a career-best effort for Willie Muir when getting up late to win a 6f handicap at Lingfield. New yard going well but may just have it to do from 3lb higher without a recent run.
Juvenile winner with few miles on the clock who has been well-backed in each of his two AW starts at Newcastle (5f) and Kempton (6f) this year, going down by less than 2L on each occasion. Remains of interest.
Racked up four wins quite early on in his career but its now over three years since he last had his head in front and he hasn't been sighted since a run in Jersey last May. Others preferred.
Three turf wins but just one success from 29 starts on the AW, though produced one of her better efforts when a 1L runner-up over C&D last week. No margin for error, however, in what appears a stronger race.
Forecasts
Captain Lars (13/8), Daschas (5/2), Come On Dave (4/1), September Issue (8/1), Penny Dreadful (14/1), Saved My Bacon (14/1), Red Alert (20/1), It Must Be Faith (40/1)
The fact that the money has arrived for DASCHAS in his last two starts suggests he's thought better of than his current mark suggests and, though he has burnt a few fingers, the lightly-raced four-year-old has probably shown enough to persevere with one more time. That said, September Issue, Captain Lars and Come On Dave all have plenty going for them and look solid alternatives.
