Promise on turf in first two outings before scoring at Lingfield on A/W debut for previous handler, Patrick Chammings. First start today for new yard and despite her penalty she should be very much involved once again.

French bred mare made a winning racecourse bow at Kelso in November before being outclassed in listed event following month. Possibly unsuited by heavy ground latest and on balance remains one to consider, assuming she takes to this surafce.

Daughter of Ask makes her racecourse debut here and might be better for the experience. From a good jumps family on the dam's side though so any market move would be of interest.

Beaten a long way on both starts to date, including when completely outclased in listed event at Market Rasen last month. Appears to need more time and is hard to recommend.

Purchased for 4,800 guineas as a three-year-old and this Kalanisi mare is from a stout staying family on the dam's side. Unlikely to be ready to trouble the principals on this first career start.
Daughter of Beat Hollow who showed very little ability on only start so far when completely tailed off in run-of-the-mill Carlisle bumper. Hard to see her playing a major role in today's contest on that basis.
Made just 800 euros as a yearling but sold for £17,000 after winning on point-to-point bow at Dromahane. First start for new connections and this daughter of Breeders' Cup winner Tikkanen is worth noting in the market for any confidence.

Best effort in three starts so far when third at big odds at Catterick in November. Filled same position at that track on latest start, although beaten a long way on soft ground. Worth a try on this surface.

Daughter of St Leger winner Milan sold for £4,000 as a 3-y-o. Weakened soon after halfway and tailed off in Wetherby bumper on only start so far. Has plenty to prove.
Five-year-old daughter of Oscar makes her racecourse debut here and is most likely to benefit from the experience. Yard has 14% winning ration at this tack so any support for her would be interesting.

Flat bred daughter of Casamento made £22,000 as a yearling. Debut today for good yard and wouldn't have to be a world beater to be very much in the thick of the action, so worth considering.

Fair Mix filly out of a winning hurdler who stayed 2m 3f. Yard not known for first time out bumper winenrs and on balance others make much more appeal.

Has hinted at ability in both starts to date at Wetherby and the step up to 2m here will probably help the cause. Yard in good form at the moment so worth a second glance.

Forecasts

Bournville (11/4), Oriental Cross (4/1), Strike The Pose (4/1), Hills Of Connemara (8/1), Donnas Dream (8/1), Sweet Vinetta (12/1), It's All About Me (12/1), Accost (25/1), True Ballew (25/1), Sueno Toms (50/1), Bitumen Belle (66/1), Roberttown Rose (250/1), Echo Beat (250/1)

13:40 Newcastle - 5 February 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Of those with previous experience, Oriental Cross looks the pick having won nicely last time out for Patrick Chammings. Interesting to see how she fares conceding weight, and newcomer BOURNVILLE, who represents a slick outfit, might be up to taking advantage and stepping up to the mark at the first time of asking. Bitumen Belle will appreciate this drop in class and won't be far away, while both Hills of Connemara and It's All About Me are others with possibilities.
  1. Bournville
  2. Oriental Cross
  3. It's All About Me
