American Gigoloh,t14
Age: 6|  Weight: 9-7| J: Fran Berry| T: H Fry
7/4
Useful over hurdles he ran well last time out when making his Flat debut over C&D. He went well throughout that race and will stay further but he looks capable of winning in this sphere.

Placed in bumpers he's proved a fairly modest sort over hurdles before being given a spin here last time over 1m2f on his only Flat run so far. Finished well held and even though this extra 2f should suit he faces a stiff task.

A four-time hurdles winner who makes his Flat debut here at the age of eight after winning over obstacles on his penultimate start. Ran poorly last time though and hard to make much of a case for him here.

Has shown some fair form over hurdles and fences and didn't run too badly on his Flat debut here recently over C&D finishing just behind American Gigolo. Appeared to find things happening a little quickly though and may need further yet.

Insomniac

10/1
First foal and looks to have a decent pedigree with the dam being a winner at up to 1m2f and a half-sister to a winner at up to the same distance in Choreographer. Changed hands for 7,500 guineas last July but remained with the same yard; worth a market check.

Finished runner-up in four consecutive handicaps from August onwards and that does leave some question marks about his resolution (travels strongly). Now returns to the Flat after one hurdles run and sets the standard on ratings at least.

Switched to the Flat she looks to have plenty to prove having become disappointing over hurdles. Has won a bumper but comes here in poor form and would be a surprise winner.

Makes her Flat debut having won a bumper and a very small field novice hurdle before being beaten in handicaps the last three times. She has on occasions looked a little moody but has done nothing wrong of late and does have some AW winners in her pedigree.

Back from a long break she's another that is now switched from the jumps sphere to the Flat. Stable are quite capable of having winners on the Flat and she would be of interest if she attracted any attention in the market.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: Charles Bishop| T: W Jarvis
50/1
Hooded for the first time she needs to take a big step forward on what she's shown so far having started at big prices on both her starts. Well behind a couple of today's rivals last time out and hard to build a case for her here.

Forecasts

Master Archer (5/4), American Gigolo (7/4), Canoodle (7/1), Insomniac (10/1), Give Him Time (14/1), Lady Persephone (33/1), Alizee Javilex (33/1), Kerre (50/1), Gin And Tonic (50/1), Faheem (66/1)

16:15 Lingfield - 3 February 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Just a low grade end to a good card with this contest full of contestants who are switching back to the Flat having run over hurdles or in bumpers. Master Archer sets the standard with the visor going on for the first time and that may help him at the business end of races where he’s so far shown himself to be a little wayward. AMERICAN GIGOLO therefore makes more appeal as he bids to go one better than last time when he had Give Him Time back in third. Insomniac is an interesting sort who makes his debut here and he should be watched in the market along with Canoodle who also makes her debut on the Flat having been running over hurdles of late.
  1. American Gigolo
  2. Master Archer
  3. Insomniac
