Nothing special over timber but held his form well enough and gained sole success here over 2m4½f on soft ground a year ago. Best effort (from three) over fences here earlier in the month when second of four and should go well up in trip.

One win from seven over hurdles, began this season with useful effort at Stratford over this trip on fourth chase outing but has taken a pair of backwards steps since, including last month at Doncaster. Gets some welcome relief from handicapper.

Won a Catterick maiden hurdle late last month on fourth start for this yard ((2m, good to soft). Since finished second in four-runner Novices' Limited Handicap at Taunton on chase bow. May improver on that effort and has a clear chance if doing so.

14:50 Leicester - 31 January 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

BALLYARTHUR looks the one to side with in this contest. He's a course winner over hurdles and produced his best effort to date over fences here earlier in the month when close second in this grade. The winner, Acting Lass, well and truly franked that form when taking a valuable Ascot handicap over a longer trip next time out off a mark of 143. This longer trip should suit and he can give Nigel Twiston-Davies a welcome winner. Enola Gay made a useful start over fences at Taunton and recently and should improve on that, ensuring he can come home ahead of Some Are Lucky, who has been out of sorts in his previous two runs.
