Runner-up in the 2011 Challow Hurdle is now successfully plying his trade in low grade sellers. His last three wins have come on good ground, but he has shown he handles softer conditions in the past.
Switch back to hurdling failed to pay off last time when it looked clear his handicap mark was far too high. That should be less of a problem in this event and he has ground conditions to suit. Cheekpieces will be sported for the first time.
Winner of a Ludlow chase on good ground and fair fourth in a claiming hurdle at the same venue a month ago. Since tailed off on softer ground at Hereford and that, plus a tough task at the weights, make him opposable.
Ended four-year wait for a win when winning over fences at Uttoxeter on heavy ground. Faces a stiff task on these terms and he may need a stiffer test.
Three time winner who was staging a revival in the spring. Has returned from a break well below those levels but appeared to heading in the right direction last time. Would no be far behind the principals at his best and one to consider.
Went close to producing an upset at Exeter in October but has failed to run anywhere near that level since. Would be receiving much more weight from most of these in a handicap.
Robin Of Locksley (6/5), Ballyrock (10/3), Hansupfordetroit (4/1), Hill Fort (8/1), Rocket Ronnie (16/1), Filatore (22/1), Go On Henry (33/1), Silent Doctor (100/1)
ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY and Ballyrock are the clear pick of the weights. The latter has been well placed to win in similar company when he has been favoured by the conditions. He will be more severely tested this time by ROBIN OF LOCKSLEY who is clearly undeserving of his current assessment, but who made all to score by 35L last March at Warwick in better company than this. Hill Fort is some way below his best but has each-way claims if building on the progress he made last time.
