Horse silk
20/1
Winner of four races for David Barron who has joined a top yard for his hurdling career. Sold to dissolve a partnership for 20,000 gns this autumn and part-owner retains a share. Loves soft ground and the market should be informative.

Horse silk
Buck Bravot23
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Nick Scholfield| T: D A Rees
200/1
Modest in point-to-points and unable to muster any sort of challenge in three novice/maiden hurdles. Has plenty of improvement to find.
3
Horse silk
200/1
Well beaten on all three starts and hard to take too many positives from those runs. Needs to improve considerably in order to feature.
4
Horse silk
Hattaab21
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: Adrian Heskin| T: T R George
5/1
Has shown ability in each of his three bumpers but he has not improved much in that period. Ridden with more restraint on his hurdling debut here last month and looks capable of improving for the experience.
5
Horse silk
Lissycasey44
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: M Hamill(5)| T: Sheila Lewis
100/1
100/1 chance and beaten around 26L on hurdles bow here (2m, good to soft) in November. Jumped well enough in the main before tiring, may improve.
6
Horse silk
Monbeg Oscar32
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  120| BF
6/4
Impressive point-to-point winner on in April 2016. Has bumped into useful types such as Maria's Benefit and River Wylde over hurdles before failing to stay last time. Sets the standard although we will not see the best of him until sent chasing.
7
Horse silk
25/1
Has improved with each run so far and we are yet to see the best of this €75,000 half-brother to two winning hurdlers in France.
8
Horse silk
9/2
Victorious twice on the Flat in France including on soft ground at Fontainebleau. Good run here last time after being hampered and stable are in good form.
9
Horse silk
Shall We Go Now48
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry| BF
5/1
Full-brother to nine-time winner Midnight Shot makes his hurdling debut. Beaten favourite in two bumpers with his latest effort perhaps reaffirming a family preference for better ground.
11
Horse silk
Gloih135
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: T E Whelan| T: Mrs D A Hamer
150/1
Has shown little in two bumpers and needs to find a lot more now sent hurdling in a first-time hood.
12
Horse silk
66/1
Runner up in sole Irish point-to-point in March. Full-sister to point-to-point winner, out of 1m4f Flat/2m-2m4f hurdle winner. Never a factor on her hurdling debut over Christmas and she probably needs more time.
13
Horse silk
Comrade Conrad30
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-7| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| BF
8/1
Winner on the Flat for Roger Charlton when rated in the 80s and he looks the type to do well at this game. Made a crucial error at Fontwell on bad ground and he ought to be a factor here in receipt of a generous allowance.

Forecasts

Monbeg Oscar (6/4), Shalakar (9/2), Hattaab (5/1), Shall We Go Now (5/1), Comrade Conrad (8/1), Skinflint (14/1), Bahama Moon (20/1), Ourville's Million (25/1), Taking A Chance (66/1), Lissycasey (100/1), Gloi (150/1), Eaton Miller (200/1), Buck Bravo (200/1)

13:20 Ludlow - 10 January 2018 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Comrade Conrad and Shall We Go Now represent leading yards and should pay to follow, particularly when getting better ground to race on. Hattaab caught the eye here last time, but may be of more interest when sent handicapping. Shalakar did well under the circumstances here last time, but MONBEG OSCAR will find this easier than his previous assignments. The expensive purchase failed to get 3m last time, but a previous second to Maria's Benefit looks strong enough in the context of this event.
  1. Monbeg Oscar
  2. Comrade Conrad
  3. Shalakar
