On the premises in stronger races (Class 6) over 5f and 6f of late, including when keeping on best of all when just over 1L fourth to Mistry at Lingfield (6f) latest. Competes off the same mark.

Showed up relatively well in AW maidens around this time in 2016, but hasn't achieved much in 2017 since switched to handicaps. Drawn wide, and not overly convincing.

A runner up in a 6f apprentices handicap at Leicester in July, but poor back there the following month and hasn't been seen in action since. Won just once in 33 career starts (7f, Kempton), so hardly the most prolific.

Kyllachy filly who is a five race maiden. Hasn't achieved much so far between 5f to 6f, but couldn't tackle much weaker rivals than these without dropping into a seller/claimer.

Has moved stables with regularity, but essentially competed in stronger contests than this during 2016 (with a degree of credit). Badly out of sorts since winning a 6f Wolverhampton seller in February, but a switch to this stable is a positive step.

Made the frame at Kempton on his penultimate start (7f), but his back-to-back January successes seem a long time ago now. Feasibly treated in a weak race, but strongest over further.

A 13 race maiden who finished a runner up at Bellewstown (5f good) for Adrian Keatley in August. Moved onto pastures new, and tackles the AW for just the second time in his career.

Nine race maiden who has fallen 15lb in the weights since switched to handicaps in October 2016. Difficult to fathom a logical argument in order to support her tonight.

His last success was over 6f here in January 2016, which ended a rather productive spell from mid December 2015. Offered little of any note since, bar a shock second at Windsor in early October. 13lb below last winning mark.

Hasn't won since September 2016 (second start), but has found the frame with a degree of regularity since mid October. Beaten 2½L when third to Archie Stevens on the Fibresand at Southwell on Monday (5f).

Hasn't won since June 2016 (for Kevin Ryan), but looking further back, he was a course winner over 7f in his prime. Not shown much on synthetics at Dundalk for this trainer, but market a guide given his lowly, falling mark.

21:00 Chelmsford City - 7 December 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A desperate 6f Class 7 handicap to conclude the Chelmsford action. Such is the unpredictability of horses racing at this lowly level, it's challenging to speak confidently about any of the field. Spitfire Limited appears to be the horse most likely to run a solid race given the improvement shown on each of her last two starts. She has time on her side unlike the majority of these, and looks a definite player. However, this race also looks tailor-made for a 'bit of a touch' and a couple of proven, but now lowly rated runners catch the eye. Pulsating is essentially a better horse than this level of racing, and the switch to Archie Watson should coincide with an overall improvement in her form, but a more speculative selection is the Irish raider MERCURY. Martin Harley is booked for this five-year-old, and whilst he hasn't shown much at Dundalk of late, he is very well treated nowadays, and was a winner over 7f here for Kevin Ryan in January 2016.
