It's a long time now since he made the frame in a novices' hurdle for Paul Webber and he has failed to complete on his last three starts. Stable's runners in decent form, so he may be able to improve on his recent run here when pulled up.

Towcester bumper winner (1m7½f, soft) in February. Made a reasonable debut over hurdles at Carlisle last month but unshipped at Warwick last time (when sent off at 4-1). Likely to be able to do better and enters calculations.

Runner-up in a Bangor bumper on debut in January and not quite up to that level on his only other start. Should be capable of better now tried over obstacles and is an interesting runner from a stable going well.

Improved on his Warwick bumper debut when winning one at Ascot on his reappearance earlier this month. Has a nice jumping pedigree and should be capable of winning more races now hurdling. Market check suggested.

Dual bumper winner when with Stuart Kittow. 4-1 and made a good start over hurdles when 1½L third in a Plumpton maiden hurdle (2m, good) last time. Capable of better than that and is considered here. Has to prove he handles soft ground.

Beaten 61L and 53L in his two starts so far, both over 2m4f and on testing ground. Drops back in trip here but needs a lot of improvement to figure and is more likely to take closer order when he has a handicap mark.
Came back from a year away from the track to be placed in a Sedgefield bumper last month, though he was beaten a long way on his hurdling debut back at that venue last time (33-1). Looks one to watch this time on that evidence.

Justified favouritism on debut in a Warwick bumper in April and no surprise to see him sent off odds-on for his hurdling debut when he hung badly left at one point as if all was not well and was pulled up. If over that, then he is a major player.

Irish point-to-point winner who belied his 16-1 SP on his hurdles debut at Worcester (2m4f, good) last month, leading until late on and finishing a respectable third. Handles some cut and this drop to 2m may yet prove to be a good move.

Won an Irish point-to-point in June and then sent off at 25-1 for his bumper debut at Cheltenham last month, where he was a respectable 15½L fifth of 14. Softer ground probably positive for this hurdles debut, though looks in need of a stiffer test.

Was off from May 2015 until a recent return on the Flat at Redcar (1m6f, soft) and showed minor promise with a 7½L fifth. Now tries hurdles and looks to be one to watch on her debut in this sphere.

Forecasts

King Vince (7/2), Destined To Shine (9/2), Fin And Game (5/1), The Dawn Man (5/1), Jersey Bean (11/2), Not That Fuisse (7/1), The Road Home (14/1), Alfiboy (25/1), Mutawaasel (66/1), Pantomime (66/1), Mah Mate Bob (200/1)

This looks like it could work out as a competitive heat, with Not That Fuisse one for short-lists, though at the same time with a bit to prove after his hurdling debut and preference being for DESTINED TO SHINE, who himself has his last run to overcome, but had promised a fair bit on his Carlisle debut over obstacles. Fin And Game is a very interesting newcomer, while King Vince, The Dawn Man and Jersey Bean are others who could go well.
