Has shown next to no ability in four starts to date, barely beating a horse home, and looks to hold little chance here.

Showed a bit more on second start when staying on in fifth behind Losingmyreligion here at the beginning of the month, but needs plenty more and looks more for handicaps after tonight.

Made a solid start to his career when not beaten far at Beverley on debut in June, and with the winner of that now rated in the 90's, the form looks decent. A worry he's not been seen since, but ought to progress.

Went off an unfancied 33/1 chance on debut at Newbury but was spotted doing some decent late work, and this step up in trip ought to suit. Some dirt winners in the pedigree too, so from a decent draw, a good showing wouldn't surprise.

Sent off 3/1 favourite for his debut at Nottingham last week but looked a little short of pace in finishing third, and this extra distance looks sure to suit. Related to plenty of winners and yard do well here. Must be on the shortlist.

Penny was dropping late on on his debut at Wolverhampton last month, staying on nicely to finish third, and pedigree suggests this step up in trip looks certain to bring about improvement. Surface clearly no issue and looks a major player.

50,000 guineas purchase, and some promise to be taken from the pedigree, but this trip may be a far as he wants at this stage and the yard rarely have two year old winners (just 1-8 last five seasons).

Satisfactory debut when running on into midfield here in September but didn't progress on that last time out, looking a little paceless. Change of headgear tried here but there are surely more likely winners.

Expensive purchase for connections and was duly sent off a warm favourite on debut at Nottingham, but blew his chance at the start. Finished race off well enough though, and with that under his belt, should do much better here. Holds a Derby entry.

Cost 300,000 guineas as a yearling, related to black-type winners Seal Of Approval and Gale Force. Clueless on debut at Chelmsford earlier in the month but got the hang of it late in the day, and sure to progress here. Holds a Derby entry too.

Nice looker but too green to do him self justice on debut at Yarmouth earlier in the year, and looks one more for the long term. Hard to fancy here.

Cleverley
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Fran Berry| T: H Candy
12/1
Useful looking pedigree that very much suggests middle-distances next year will be her thing, but yard do get two year old winners at the track (seven winners here last five years) and on that alone, is worth a market check at least.

(13)
Horse silk
33/1
Recent purchase (cost 20,000 guineas) at Tatts Autumn sales and some promise to be taken from the pedigree, but likely to need this and is poorly drawn. Others make more appeal.

Horse silk
50/1
Cheap purchase as a yearling, and yard not known for winners in this sphere either. Hood on first time up not a good sign either, and she makes little appeal.

The two to concentrate on would appear to be Godolphin's ISPOLINI, a seven-figure purchase for the stable, and John Gosden's Glencadam Master, who shaped with plenty of promise on debut and will almost certainly do better with that debut effort under his belt. But preference is for Ispolini, who was simply too green on debut and is likely to leave that effort behind here. Grecian Spirit wouldn't need to improve that much on his Wolverhampton debut run to shake up the front tow, and looks the one for each-way players.
  1. Ispolini
  2. Glencadam Master
  3. Grecian Spirit
