Cost €34,000 as a three-year-old. Full-brother to smart bumper/2m4f-2m5f hurdle/chase winner Willoughby Court, closely-related to bumper/2m5f chase winner Markov. Lovely pedigree and in-form stable is 22% in bumpers over five years. Interesting.
€22,000 foal. Full-brother to bumper winner Armaan's Wish. Dam an unraced half-sister to Gold Cup winner Denman and bumper/smart 2m-2m4f hurdle/chase winner Silverburn. Stable 10% over five seasons, though this just second bumper runner this season.
€11,000 two-year-old, who sold for €26,000 at three. Half-brother to French winners Way Of Love (1m3f) and Klassikos (1m2½f/1m4½f), out of placed 2m1f and 2m2f hurdler. Stable 1-2 in bumpers this season and champ booked, so market check advised.
Put in a couple of reasonable efforts in similar contests on turf earlier in the year at Southwell and Market Rasen. Has been given some time before this third start and now has headgear applied. Needs to raise his game to pick up some prize money.
10-1 on debut at Fontwell (2m1½f, good), where he went well for a long way and was eased when unable to catch the winner, eventually beaten 6L. Provided this doesn't come too soon, he can improve and be a contender this time.
Cost €9,000 at three, though sold for just £1,200 earlier this year. Full-brother to 2m hurdle winner Forgivememaria and half-brother to a point-to-point winner. Modest pedigree and stable 0-7 in bumpers over five seasons, so best watched on debut.
Ran like the 100-1 shot he was sent off at on his Warwick debut in January, pulling hard and weakening from halfway to be beaten 150L. Lots to prove on his return to the racecourse, including both fitness and ability.
Recorded a reasonable effort on debut when 18½L fifth of 11 at Newbury (soft) in March, though failed to match that on her recent reappearance at Aintree. May strip fitter for that, but is going to need significant improvement to win this.
Forecasts
It's Got Legs (6/4), Cavernous (6/4), Didtheyleaveuoutto (6/1), Ceara Be (16/1), Haasab (16/1), Fight For Love (16/1), Just Call Me Blue (33/1), Our Young Un (66/1)
Modest fayre here to kick-off proceedings and it in-form trainer Ben Pauling may have found a good opening for CAVERNOUS to win on debut. As a full-brother to the stable's star Willoughby Court, he catches the eye on pedigree and is related to bumper success. Didtheyleaveuoutto is another with a lovely pedigree and a market check is suggested, given Nick Gifford's lack of recent bumper runners, while Fight For Love is another newcomer who could go well. Of those with experience, It's Got Legs stands out and should be capable of another competitive effort.
