Bambys Boy715
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: G Lee| T: Micky Hammond| D
12/1
Kelso winner on debut for Keith Reveley in November 2015, he disappointed the following month and hasn't been seen since. Likely to need this race, and perhaps merely a prep-run for an impending hurdles campaign. Non-runner at Newcastle on Friday.

Horse silk
28/1
Failed to complete in a couple of starts in Irish point-to-points in the spring, and needs to leave those efforts firmly in the past now switched to rules racing. Always a stable to respect; especially in bumpers.

Horse silk
Going Gold370
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Cook| T: R Hobson
4/1
Cost £80,000 after winning a point-to-point in May 2016, but appeared to regress from his first bumper start to second for his previous trainer Rebecca Curtis. Makes his stable debut at a realistic level (off since November 2016).

Unraced eighth foal by Winged Love out of Swap Shop. Cost £30,000 as a three-year-old, and is a brother to 2m6f hurdle winner Showem Silver. Trainer notched his 100th winner of 2017 (all codes) in a Newcastle bumper last week.
Unraced gelding by Stowaway out of a Gothland mare (Late Guest). Stable wouldn't be well known for their debut bumper winners overall (Midnight Shadow being an obvious exception), and Danny Cook takes the ride aboard Going Gold.

Lough Ryn300
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: N D Fehily| T: N P Mulholland
2/1
Finished 15L fourth of 11 to Borderline Chatho in a Naas bumper (2m3f) in January. Has left his previous trainer in order to move to England, but looks more of an obvious hurdles/chase prospect than a potential bumper winner.

Horse silk
Phantom Isle192
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: C Grant
33/1
Teofilo gelding who posted a much improved second effort at Sedgefield in May (2m1f good) when beaten 2½L by the heavily backed Way Out West. That form is largely untested, but holds place possibilities given the fair underfoot conditions.

8/1
Unraced Getaway gelding out of the Barathea mare Capelvenere. Carries the Waiting Patiently silks of Richard Collins, so one to note in the market for a trainer who has saddled 29 bumper winners from 154 runners in the past five years.
Half-brother to the useful chaser Fine Parchment and winning hurdler Coole Cody, so has winners in the family, but has left Nicky Richards after a couple of starts in bumpers during the spring and that doesn't bode well for the future.

250/1
Second foal by Mahler out of the unraced dam Nadwell. Tailed off at sizeable odds in a Kelso bumper (debut) in September, and whilst that was a fair race, she looks nowhere near good enough to even threaten in a bumper.

Forecasts

Lough Ryn (2/1), I'm To Blame (11/4), Going Gold (4/1), It's All About Me (6/1), Return Ticket (8/1), Bambys Boy (12/1), Trigger Nichol (14/1), Cadougarde (28/1), Phantom Isle (33/1), It's Buster (66/1), Country Delights (250/1)

15:35 Catterick - 24 November 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

No obvious standout contender on paper, so it's a case of looking at pedigrees and past trainer bumper records. Return Ticket catches the eye in the silks of Richard Collins. Phantom Isle has the benefit of experience and could make the frame for Chris Grant, whilst both Bambys Boy and Going Gold might well need their respective and well overdue returns to action. Rules newcomer Cadougarde (Stuart Crawford) is worth a market check, as is Lough Ryn. However, the human Trigger Nichol (Craig) takes the mount aboard the Keith Dalgleish trained Paul and Clare Rooney owned newcomer I'M TO BLAME. This Winged Love gelding might need a longer trip in order to be seen at his very best, but the stable saddled their 100th winner of the calendar year in a Newcastle bumper on Friday, so he's a token selection in a difficult looking contest.
